Re: Switching from W10 to Linux
Hi Thanks all OK with VSO
My post was simply "My old pcs are not W11 compatible. One option I am considering is going to Linux.
Has anybody had any experience with installing ConvertX suite on LInux?"
Yes the VSO programs are excellent and work very well and as intended on Windows 10 and 11

Re: Switching from W10 to Linux
Thanks.
Using Linux Mint and Wine on a too old for W11 64 bit pc. (CPU i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz RAM 16gb ddr3)
Tried Convertxtodvd 64bit and Convertxtovideo, but Wine does not seem to support them, error message Haswell Vulcan Support Incomplete. And apps crash when try and open.
I will be sticking ...

Re: Beta 7.5.0.131
Love the cat videos!
Results below comparing:
first - loading of 3 files individually
second - project of the 3 files
To me the results are the same, makes no difference

Re: Beta 7.5.0.131
Morning.
On two disks that each had 3 different videos. Each video outputted at 16:9 as expected. The videos are long, each one around 90 minutes long. So long project.
Hardware tests were done, and I load each file manually individually.
On the other points, I'll check them in a couple of days ...

Beta 7.5.0.131
Been testing with standard videos during the week, and all ok. Although no quicker than 32bit.
Today tried two videos a 1080p x265 10bit and a 2160p/4K
Great results, converted to DVD with no issues at all.

Re: Messed up when going back to 32 bit
I found that the 32 but version is still there after 64 installed. Just have to find the icon.
I have had no issues uninstalling 64 and 32 , and then reinstalling 32. Suggest try this. And be prepared to paste in the Convertxtodvd key and click on all the OK type buttons

When you saved updated settings, did you get the busy screen / hourglass not closing?

Re: beta 7.5.0.130
Sorry just a question on hardware support for my nvidea 3080, see attached do I need to run the tests to get hardware support? On 32bit version I cannot recall needing to do test to enable this.
Also when save setting the busy screen does not close

Re: beta 7.5.0.130
Thank you for the information, through this process my knowledge of how Windows operates has improved.
I turned off the Windows Security setting Exclusions and installed the beta 131, it created the security exception and success.

Re: beta 7.5.0.130
Thanks, I added those 2 folders and checked security ok. And turned off the Windows Security setting Exclusions.
But unfortunately, still crashed. So reverted back to the Windows Security setting ON for Exclusions
I will leave it there for now and thank you for following up, much appreciated.

Issue resolved for me by adding this to Windows Security settings. I think this is a bug in the app or windows security as I've never had to do this before

Thank you. Yes just tried that. It still installs, but when run gives this error message, and then closes. Very strange
