DVD Converter - Conversion Quality keeps resetting

I am using v4.0.0.94
Every time I rip a new DVD, the quality keeps resetting down to about 19%, but when I click the quality, it's set to 100%. If I change the setting, it works for the current disc, but then resets back to the low setting the next time.
I have tried saving the preferences, but they are ignored the next launch.
I have tried clean reinstalling the product, but this does not seem to reset the existing preferences.
Any thoughts?
