Delete a couple of seconds from a broken video file

I have a 50 minute video in wmv-format. When I watch it with, for example, VLC it hangs at the 24:03 mark. There's obviously something bad with the file there.

However, if I make a 10 second jump past the 24:03 mark I can watch the rest OK.

Problem is that when I load it into ConvertXtoDVD the loading will not get past the 24:03 mark so I can't edit out the bad part.

Same story with ConvertXtoVideo, only loads up to 24:03 so I don't get the chance there either.

Any suggestions? Image

Only way is to fix that file with some 3rd party program, google for "wmv fix".

Thank you for the reply.

I remembered that I had an old application called Format Factory that I used a lot years ago and it did the trick.

I thought I would first save the part up until the bad seconds, then the second part after the bad seconds and then finally merge them . But, I didn't have to, Format Factory accepted the file and did the job in one go. Image

Long Path Tool is an application used to manage long file names so I don't understand what it has to do with this topic.
