Problem with language!

I have a Windows 8.1 64-bit system with 3 user accounts all with Administrative rights. The system language is English (United States). When I opened your program for the first time from the user that I installed your program with, it chose English as it's default language. When I opened your program for the first time from User 2 & User 3, it opened with the Dutch language as default. I think there should be a way that your program should adapt the system language for all of the users.

Hi saad,

As I suppose you've noticed this issue is related to the "install for all users" issue you've already reported.
What I don't get is why it sets the default to Dutch on your computer, do have Dutch language installed on your machine?

best regards,

Felicià

In one of the accounts that have Dutch as the displayed language, if you open the registry and go to:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VSO\VSO Media Player\1"
What value is next to "locale_file"?

I haven't been able to reproduce here, each time a new user launches VMP it's set to local language.
Could we use teamviewer so I can see what's going on on your computer?

Best regards,

Felicià

I have a Windows 8.1 64-bit system.

I uninstalled your program completely. Removed all listed below:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VSO
Removed from all 3 user accounts on the system

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VSO
Removed the keys

C:\Program Files (x86)
Removed the 'VSO' folder

C:\ProgramData
Removed the 'VSO' folder

Downloaded a fresh installer from your website
vmp_setup-avangate_588.exe
Size: 19910 KB

Removed all the files from Windows Prefetch folder. Restarted the system.

Installed your program. Opened from the user account that I used to install the program, everything was OK.
Opened from the other two accounts on the system and I get the same issue.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VSO\VSO Media Player\1
"locale_file" value: Vmp_Germany.ini

System language settings for user1, user 2 and user3.

I just installed and tried your Video Converter. Everything is fine on all the user accounts.

Please compare the language windows of both the programs:

Hi,

I haven't forgotten about, just haven't found the solution as both programs use the same tools to set language.

I just installed the latest version (1.4.1.479), same issue. This time, I installed the program from User2 and then I was having the issue on User1 and User3. Then, I completely uninstalled the program and installed it from User3. I was having issues on User1 and User2. Remember before I installed the program using User1 and I was having issue on User2 & User3. So basically, the User that installs the program has no issue, any other user accounts have an issue. I'm surprised that you are not having this issue when you tested this on your systems. I have tried two different systems, same issue.

Hi,

Could you send me a VSORep (Help/Report bug) from an account that has the issue just after launching VMP for the first time when the language is still wrong.
In the message section of VSORep just put For Felicià from Saad.

br,

Felicià

I just installed the latest version. The language issue is not fixed. I think there is some issue in the language file. Why code_page and lang_page are same in both the language files. Please look at the attached snapshots.

Hi,

Just builded a quick one to check your hypothesis, tell me if it works:
http://oasis.vso-software.fr/Beta/VSOMe ... 3.483b.exe
Kee in mind that other that checking if it solves the language issue this is a beta, and may not be stable.

Thanks

Told you it was a quick one ;)
You can either roll back to latest published version or redownload the beta (I've removed the test button) and see what weird thing happens next ;)
