2.0.0.58 feedback

Post by Cronm »

Hi, this is my feedback for 2.0.0.58

subtitles in mp4 dvdsub remux option working, is there any limitations for adding same options than mkv profile options?
AV on click in general options forced subtitles is corrected

still crashing randomly on close application after convert several files with nvidia_nvenc active

bug when you change settings via quick settings menu changes not are actives inmediatly example:
  • Add two files for conversion
change simultaneos files for convert from 2 to 1
press start and two files will start simultaneosly
you must set options twice for take effect.
Suggestion 1 there is no clear way to set or see which subtitle track is marked as default track. Now for mark default subtitle track you must enter in advanced edit and set it with rigth click but you cant see wich of them is marked on the list or on main screen on resume task hint before convert multiple files.
Suggestion 2 Enable posibility of view full resume of task conversion info in main window directly (same than you can see now on hint when you pass your mouse over grid mouse)
Suggestion 3 Enable to set output folder to same folder than original file

Regards and sorry for my english

Hi,

Please consider posting feedbavk on beta versions in the beta thread, thank you.

I completely forgot to tell you why DVD subs were not allowed in MP4 files, it's because MP4 files do not support DVD subs as a standard, so not all players will be able to read them and even those who can read them can't always manage more than one stream per file.

Edit: Does the fomr border change when the crash occurs?

Quick settings bug confirmed.

Suggestion 1: Agreed, will be added as feature request.
Suggestion 2: I'm not really sure I understand what you want, could you attach a screenshot?
Suggestion 3: Dangerous. Target folder would not be guarantied as it can be read only. Target filename would not be guanatied as it could be the same as source.

Regards and sorry for my engish. Soy Español ;)

Ok i will maintain this post for suggestion / new features discussion for bug on beta will be posted on beta post
Suggestion 1: Agreed, will be added as feature request.
New Feature / Suggestion 2

Basically im refering to separate origin from destination info in 2 columns. Now, you must pass cursor over task in the grid record for view final conversión info over hint window for each task

New Feature / Suggestion 3
2.png
Suggestion 3: Dangerous. Target folder would not be guarantied as it can be read only. Target filename would not be guanatied as it could be the same as source.
Checkbox for renaming vs overwrite common options solve this problem.
In case of read only directory, disk full or other error while enconding the current task, task will fail and pass next on the list like now, when any task fails.

New Feature / Suggestion 4
Identify wich options are used during h.264 hardware encoding via NVIDIA_NVENC or Quicksync or others platforms, when editing custom profiles, now there are parameters that not apply over hardware encoding,
for example CABAC 2 refframes vs 4 refframes not have any impact on output file only in mediainfo metadata, if you set more than 4 refframes encoder fails. Loop filter affects to final result with cuda?, etc
Separate tab for hardware options? or ampliated parameter descripcition?
User need to know wich options are really involved on hardware encoding vs software encoding.

New Feature / Suggestion 5
Ability to enable watch folder for autoconvert files to configured profile
When application enter in watch folder mode (minimized on tray) detected new supported files on watched folder/subfolders makes launch task automatically to encoding using specified profile

Thats all for now

Feature request 1: entered officially here http://bugs.vso-software.fr/view.php?id=12795
Feature request 2: in an ideal world - yes. Info is already present and I don't see how it can be added rather than adding an icon to each titleset loaded which will pollute current display, clicking on icon would open a separate window.
Feature request 3: still "dangerious"
Feature request 4: in an ideal world - yes. When we have time, sure, to little request use of feature to implement now
Feature request 5: in an ideal world - yes. When we have time, sure,
Thats all for now
Thank goodness, as that will keep us busy for some time already! But thank you for your suggestions and screenshots

Feature request 2: I agree that it would require a GUI redesign and may not be a priority now.
Feature request 3: Can't agree. CxV already controlling this on global, but with one directory. It might not be a priority but it does not have to be dangerous.
Feature request 4: I think that main use case of CxV is Hardware encoding support abitlity. Mainly because there are many free options with software encoding support
Feature request 5: I would like to see it in future versions is very useful in some use cases, such as archiving home video in NAS for later treatment

I dont like to talk about others product of competence in support forums but other products have implemented these features since their initial versions. (features 1, 2, 3 and 5) Feature 4 is not exist in those that I have tried, and I think it is very basic from a user point of view. As a user I would like to know what options have a real effect on the final result.
