Suggestion: Custom filename pattern

Post by Saxtus »

Hello.

I was wondering if it's possible to have a custom filename pattern.

So for example:

When I click this http://youtu.be/VO23JnCOW4s
VSO Downloader detects the video as filename: "YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.mp4"

Instead of me manually renaming this video to
"RayWilliamJohnson - I HEART INDIANS"

I could set on VSO Downloader something like "%author% - %title%"
and it would do it automagically!

Idea is good, but when you are picking up streams there is not always that information available.
So where do you pick it from?

Where I picked "what" from?

I guess you're not talking about the video,
because I have the youtube link in my post,
so I am missing something...

Downloader is looking for streams being downloaded, not text or titles on webpage.
Those streams do not include information required for your suggestion.

That's simply not true, because it is able to detect video titles most of the time, at least at YouTube.
On this video you can see that it picks up the page's titles as-is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAnRDCE_GYY
