File size changes drastically

Post by Merlyn55 »

I have some files that were converted from Pal to NTSC format in another program. The folder that has the converted files which are video-ts files is 2.12GB in size. After converting them in CXDVD the size jumps to 49GB. When the program is ready to burn to disc it asks for a larger disk to fit 49GB of files. Any body have a solution or explanation for this. Thank you for your responses.

I haven't done any conversion for a very long time but I remember that you can set the conversion options. Ideally setting to auto.

Conversion size is relative to many variables.
Biggest is screen size. DVD has max size of 720x480 pixels NTSC / 720x576 pixels PAL
If your original is in lower resolution then it has to be upscaled and file size will increase.
Smaller factors are number of subtitles, sound channels etc.

What are specs of your original file?
