Output file size estimation

Post by Winnie »

Hi,
Is there a way to get an estimation of the output file size after converting to DVD?
I mean before the conversion starts.
Thank you.

Not really. Often times, when CXD says it will require a DVD-9, the resulting generated VIDEO_TS fits on a DVD-5.

Now, I've been meaning to experiment with this (Just thought about it this morning, actually.), but I think there's a way to tell CXD to make an output VIDEO_TS of X size somewhere in the settings. That's about the best you could do. While it's not a prediction of the actual size, it will prevent CXD from going over that size, but it may also reduce the video quality if CXD needs to go above that size.

Thank you, dbminter, for a prompt reply. I was afraid that this would be the answer...

I didn't realize how prompt it was. :) I just now noticed the time stamps difference.
