Log window

Post by Ch3vr0n »

@Maggie

I cant exactly remember when this happened (before or after you joined the team) but it's for a while now that the log window when doing a conversion has been split to it's own seperate window. Any chance the user could be given the option if (s)he would like the old style (which had the title tree on the left, video preview on the right (split in 2 columns) and when activated the log beneath the 2 columns) or the new (current style)?

Cause i prefer the former.

I'm running a dual monitor setup and i usually maximize CX(H)D on 1 monitor while i work on the 2nd (to keep track of things) with the log open. Now i can't keep the log open and keep an eye on conversion cause of that seperate log window. I'd need a 3rd monitor

Hi Ch3vr0n,
Do you happen to have a screenshot of the former one?
I think it was before I joined since I do not see how it was.
Cheers,
Maggie,

I stand to be corrected, I think that the attached log window went away with the introduction of version 7.
I had all the versions of 7 since alpha but unfortunately lost everything when my HDD crashed.
I can trace it back to version 7.0.0.28 and it was already gone by then.

and that's the point of this request. I want it back lol, because with the "attached" log i can view the encoding process AND log on a single monitor, while doing my work on the second. With the detached log, that's not possible without overlapping windows. Which is extremely annoying, so i either have to tolerate the overlapping or stick with either the encoding view OR the log view on 1 monitor while working on the other. Neither of which, sit well with me.

I don't think at this stage and as things stand you should have high hopes that it will ever happen. All the major efforts are in the direction of the 64 bit version. But still, I don't know if it will be considered or not since with every addition new bugs emerge.

Oh i fully realise that. I'd be happy if it were to make it in the x64 build :)
