720p download versus 1080p

Post by eddie11013 » Fri Mar 17, 2017 11:19 pm

To what I actually "see" on my big screen TV after a conversion with ConvertXtoDVd, does it matter which movie file I download? I haven't actually measured anything, but they appear the same. Is any part of a movie lost or gained one way or the other.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: I'm sure this has been asked many times, maybe even by me. LOL

Any part of screen is not lost if you keep same aspect ratio.
Lot of details are lost when comparing 1080p version to 720p version of same movie, if it is good original then better resolution always has more detail.

For example:
Movie has scene with newspaper on table.
720p version - press pause and you can read headlines.
1080p version - press pause and you can actually read the news.

Thanks, I always have focused on getting the 1080p version, just thinking it had to be better. So now you have confirmed it.

Thanks, again
