Hebrew subs problem

Post by labadimdsi » Sat Feb 18, 2017 5:20 pm

Hello guys,

I am not new to ConvertXtoDVD, but I now have a new registered version 6.0.0.90 and am having problem with Hebrew subs.

The last letter of a sentence in a subtitle appears as the first letter in the next subtitle, causing some chaos with the text.

I tried changing the encoding but despite choosing various Hebrew encoding types this problem persists.

I will be grateful if you offer me some help.

BTW - when I go into the subtitles test rendering settings menu, the code page does not open (it appears to open and immediately close again) - looks like a bug to me.

Best regards!!

Could you post the subtitle file?
Is the problem visible in the preview?

Yes, the problem is visible in the preview as well.

I can't upload the file - I get an error message saying the extension srt is not allowed. I tried changing the extension ofr the upload but I get the same error message.

Thank you for your kind help.

Just change the extension or zip the file, this should do the trick

Here is the zipped file of the Hebrew subs.

The nature of the problem: last character of a subtitle is forwarded to the beginning of the next subtitle shown.

I would appreciate your help with this.

Hi,

In order to fix your issue with Hebrew subtitles you have to pick a special code page.
In the Default settings menu, select "subtitles" then click on "Subtitle text rendering settings", then check "Show more code pages" and select "Macintosh Hebrew" from the drop down. Finally click OK.
This should set the correct code page for your subtitles.

Regards,

Felicià

Well, there is still a small problem.

Sentences of Hebrew subtitles marked by <i> appear in gibberish.

your attention to this issue would be appreciated.

Many thanks again

BR,

Here is a zipped file. See for example lines 1-4, 88, 89, 97 that appear in gibberish (simple text in Hebrew, not in italic or bold, appears OK).

Thank you.
