episode names unreadable when highlighted on final dvd

The episode names unreadable when highlighted on final dvd, although look fine when done in the simulator....so its not possible to tell what the final dvd will look like, this needs changing.

Used SF Cartoonist Hand SC.ttf font used black outline (4) green shadow (4) Font colour Orange
looks good in simulation, but when highlighted on DVD looks terrible

Attached the font used

you attached arbuckleremux subtitle not "sf cartoonist sc"

Sorry. Claire can't do,that

Works fine on the pc in simulation mode, but on the tv, as each episode is highlighted it is impossible to read, looks really blurry......not actually blurry.....but the poor legibility is not shown on the pc in simulation....

The font is free and can easily be found......

Not every font and color arrangement is guaranteed to show well on a finalized DVD.
Most often you will get a good looking subtitle text on a computer monitor but when seen on a TV it is not the same story..
Try and find a font and colors that show best on your TV set and stick to them. Most often "chunky" fonts are best. Avoid fancy fonts with thin curves and also avoid colors.which too bright. White or yellow font color with black outline I consider best. I also avoid shadowing.

Thanks Imagree, but isn't that the point of the simulation option, to show what it would look like on a tv ???

Means it's a long haul converting a video, overnight on each font I want to try..

Hi

I tested and I agree it doenst look so good on PowerDVD. On VLC I think there is some other bug here related to display of cursor/Selector.

What is the brand model of you living room player?

The simulator looks good, and in PowerDVD I would describe the problem as an alignment one. the highlight seems to be displayed on top of the text but not matching 100%. It seems to overlap and the original text color can be seen towards the top and right side of the letters. Do you agree on this description?

I entered a bug http://bugs.vso-software.fr/view.php?id=12538
I ll keep you posted.

Thanks Claire

Yes I agree with your findings, so is it possible that CXTDVD is not handling the font properly or possibly not coding it correctly for DVD playback..

It's a Phillips DVD player.....also on xbox1 same
