Audio Delay

Post by eddie11013 » Mon Dec 12, 2016 7:15 pm

Some times I will get an audio delay in a finished DVD made with ConvertXtoDVD. My usual solution is to find another file and redo the project. I saw a recent post about "mediainfo", so downloaded and installed same. Here are the results, the 2.7GB file worked fine and the 10GB did not, it had the audio delay. Both files sound fine when paying on my computer.
Thanks in advance for any solutions, suggestions

Well, I tried to upload a pdf file and that didn't work, tried two other different extensions and they didn't work, so I'm just typing what I found, as follows. This file worked without issue
Container - Matroska: 2.70 GB ----- Overall bit rate 3 581 kb/s
1 video stream: AVC 1 Audio Stream: AC-3 -- Writing application: mkvmerge v9.4.0 64 bit First audio stream - English, 384 kb/s, 48.0 kHz, 16 bits, 6 channels, AC-3

Second file did not work, had very obvious "audio" delay from start to finish, info follows:
Matroska: 10.9 GB --- Overall bit rate: 14.5 Mb/s
1 video stream: AVC - 1 Audio stream: AC-3 Writing application: mkvmerge v8.0.0 64 bit First video stream - 13.9 Mb/s 1920*800 (2.40:1), at 23.976 (24000/1001) FPS, AVC (High@L4.1) (CABAC /5 Ref Frames)
First audio stream - English, 576 kb/s, 48.0 kHz, 16 bits, 6 channels, AC-3

Hi,

Does the audio start from the beginnning and is stable or does get grow with time?
Does seeking in the output affect the delay?
If you preview the video in convertX does it have the delay?
If you preview the root menu in ConvertX does it have the delay?

Thanks for replying.
I only have one answer for you - Does the audio start from the beginnning and is stable or does get grow with time?
Audio delay starts "almost" from the beginning but it does "not" grow, it is a stable delay. Some times on TV episodes I just put up with it. On "movies", I get another "file", and as previously stated it works just fine.

Does seeking in the output affect the delay? - Sorry, don't know what this means.

If you preview the video in convertX does it have the delay? - I never preview a video in ConvertX- it either works or it doesn't.

If you preview the root menu in ConvertX does it have the delay? - Again, I never preview a video, in ConvertX. And I don't know what you mean by "preview the root menu". I don't watch / hear the video while it is being converted.

To be clear, when the issue arises, I check back with the original file, on my PC, and it is fine, no audio delays.

Mostly the issue is with TV episodes, but on rare occasions, with movies.

I have a new video file, that plays fine on my PC. It plays fine from a USB on my TV. I converted the file with the following versions, 81, 64, 45, and 29 and they all had an audio delay. The only setting that I have used from the normal standard settings is "best video". Any suggestions on how to resolve. I have converted several movies without issue with v81 for a while now.

Thanks in advance

Wondering if there has been any progress on audio delay issue.
Latest log attached with same issue, different video files.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I've just finished a sync issue and now I can convert your file without sync issues. I just have one more bug to fix and then I'll build the next beta.
I'll keep you posted.
