@ deadlyshadow

I think the quality can be improved if you convert to target size DVD-9, please try and let us know.

FYI you are converting an HD source down to DVD.

I have converted even to 25000 MB but it seems CXD likes it's strategy to convert and hates to create large media
adding an option that let the user to change default strategy of conversion would be appreciated

New beta posted.

@deadlyshadow - set to dvd9 (I hope in this case it uses SP encoding profile) and post log file please, conversion doesn't have to finish, but you could let it finish and watch quality.

Setting to DVD9 had no benefits

Version 6.0.0.90 fixed my audio normalization problem. Tried it and worked for my files. Thanks much and I wish other software companies would give as great a service as you guys and gals. Thanks again and have a great day.

@deadlyshadow

I did another test today, converted the source with ConvertXtoVideo, to a custom profile AVI (720x480), 29.97 fps. the output size is 2,56 GB
With hardware optimizations on using my CUDA GPU.

I can't see any quality difference with the conversion done by ConvertXtoDVD. I'm looking around time 29m12(dvd output) / 28m55 (avi output).
The think the quality difference you see is in the resize done from HD to SD.

Converted a file, but on playback it stalls out after about 15 minutes. I played the file on my computer and it plays fine all the way to the finish. Converted it twice, same result. Log attached. All my other conversions worked just fine. End result file size only 895MB, strange. Instead of the usual 3+GB's.

As per my usual routine, when a file doesn't work I just download a different file, doing that now, and hope it works.

thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Bug report sent. FYI - As I expected, a 'different' file of the same movie worked just fine. Finished video file was 3.63GB vs previous one of just under 900MB.
Log attached.

Also attaching log file of the one for the bug report, hope its not confusing.
Thanks again

Hi, I just got your report.
It seems that your source file is damaged as only about 14 minutes were encoded.
I'll send you an email with more details.

Well, I guess we're done with this issue. Seems I inadvertently deleted the file in question, no problem I'll just download another copy. Did that and decided to test it before I send it to you. No point on you working on a file if it was going to work. Well, you guessed it, this time it worked perfectly. Video result was over 3+GB's and it played just fine. Stuff happens I guess. Some how my "original" copy must have downloaded incorrectly. Odd that I was able to play the complete file on my computer. Hmmm.

So, thanks anyway. Sorry I wasted your time.
