ConvertXtoHD 3 changing framerate

Post by htaylor9915 »

I just encoded a blu ray disc using ConvertXtoHD 3.0.0.71. The source video was encoded at 540p 30fps. I set ConvertX to encode at 576p instead of downgrading the resolution to 480p. After encoding the project and burning it to a disc I found my blu ray player won't accept it because the frame rate was changed from 30fps to 25fps. Is there any way to stop the software from changing the frame rate?

Your original is not complying to BR standards. There is no 540p.
ConvertXtoHD is correctly converting to PAL frame rate when output is 576p

So if I'm understanding you correctly, converting to 576p will always result in PAL framerate and there's no way to change it? I guess I wasn't expecting that since the specs on my player say it supports 576p resolution but it won't play anything not encoded to an NTSC framerate. I did redo the disc at 480p and the framerate came out just fine that time, so it looks like I'm using either 480p or 720p to encode anything at 540p to disc.

Thanks for the reply!

If your player is very picky then yes, use 720p
540p is not standard on DVD or BR.
