I had a weird issue recently. When using the cut feature I pressed play on the video BEFORE ever clicking the cut button, and all of a sudden tons and tons of error messages kept popping up. it never ended. they kept on and on and on more and more error messages. It probably had 100 or more by the time I was able to force the program to shut down through task manager.

It seems that the bit-rate lock issue is back again. If i go to convert the same files the bit-rate is way less on the newer version after 1.3.0.24.EG to make a full bluray BD-25,no menus

version 1.3.0.24 Video bit-rate 28.8mb
version 1.3.0.25b Video bit-rate 20.0mb
version 1.3.0.26b Video bit-rate 20.0mb

I know this was a problem a while ago,and i do realize that the newer versions are Beta's,but i thought i would bring it to your attention now.

Hello,

This is not a bug but a VSO choice...
It seems that too high bitrate cause playback issues when Blu-ray structure is burn on writable/rewritable discs.

In place of checking video bitrate requested, please check the video quality on output...

Thanks for the reply Cedric
I as a VSO customer would like that option to be made available in say a check/tick box,or drop down box (EG limits to 20.00mb or 25.00mb bitrate etc)on say the encoding page of the program.
Otherwise i would like the highest bitrate that i can get on the project that i was going to burn.
I have never had any problems with playback issues on the higher bitrates at all.
I do hope you guys could implement this ,at least it would give people a choice at what works for them.

Cheers

Hello ROBERT46055,

Before sending this type of post, did you tried to increase conversion speed by changing encoding settings?
If your program take less than 2 hours to encode a 1080p video file (with a core 2 duo 3ghz...), that mean that it should uses hardware encoding (CUDA, NVENC, QuickSync...)
Did you tried to enable hardware decoding/encoding in ConvertXtoHD?

Hello Robert,
i hate to say this but there's another program open smart burner it's two in one it does DVD and blue-ray files a fast speed 2hours less than convertxtohd try it out it's only 10 dollars for the year i still love convertxtohd and convertxtodvd but the time for me is to long to wait it takes on film under two hours on open smart burner while convertxtohd takes 6 hours i have a core two duo 3ghz :P :D
Like I'm a little curious, I downloaded then installed your "Open SmartBurner" program to test it so, there's my results:
Using a H264 1080p input file (Big buck bunny)

- Open SmartBurner: encoding time 4m35s, output filesize 930MB, VLC and Windows Media Player can't play the output file, same for our 3 Blu-ray home players
- ConvertXtoHD: encoding time 4m43s, output filesize 1.48GB (for my point of view, video quality is far better but...)

The weird thing I seen on first Open SmartBurner installation is the default output settings for Blu-ray:
Image
MPEG-2 codec is the default video codec for Blu-ray output? Did you changed this setting to H264 for your tests?

Hello ROBERT46055,

I don't know what you're doing to have fastest H264 1080p encoding with Smart burner, it's slower than CxtoHD for me...
In last ConvertXtoHD, you can select a specific hardware encoder in settings, what type of hardware encoding is available on your computer?
Did you tried to enable an hardware encoder?
i like convertxtohd but ive been haveing major problems with finishing the menus it stalls
What are the menu problems you have?
Saying that you have problems is not enough to reproduce/fix the problems, and this type of message is useless for us...
Can you create Blu-ray menus in Smart Burner?
I can't play the Smart burner results in VLC (black video), can you play them?
