Suddenly gettng a new error

Post by Dirkmaster »

'Unable to create key 'Software\VSO\ConvertXtoVideoUltimate\2\Frm_LesserTypeSettings'

I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and tried version 2.05, 2.13, and beta 15. Don't know what else to do.

THe only other sympton I can tell is that the program opens fine when I launch from the installer, but if I just launch from the icon afterwards, the program opens on the wrong monitor and it's the wrong size.

I'm open to suggestions. Thanx for any help.

Sorry you've run into this problem.

Can you reinstall and when you do check these 3 options, that is what should fix the problem

might as well install the latest beta too, that is what I suggest

I'm rather embarrassed to admit I figured it out.

The program REALLY wants to be run as Administrator. If I do that, all is well.

I would suggest that the icon the installer drops might make that adjustment itself, but other than that, all is well.

Hello Dirkmaster,

The program doesn't need administrator rights to works, the problem should be with the write access on this specific registry entry...
Try to delete the whole ConvertXtoVideo registry tree then reinstall.
