Cnvrtng video & keeping original time stamp/creation date

Post by ricardoc3000 »

Hello, long time user, first time board poster.
I obtain videos in a loop during my UBER drives and I use ConvertXtoVideo to batch convert the .avi to .mp4 for the sake of size.
each video has a date and time. after i convert the videos the only date present is the convert date and time.
I want to preserve the original date.
Any suggestions?

I use W10.

best regards,

Do you mean time in file properties?
Or which time stamp are you referring to?

Converting a file is actually creating new file so those time stamps are set at conversion time.
There are free options to change that, here is one:

Thank you for the quick reply. My inquiry was in regards to file properties. I knew about the file changer and attribute changer options programs. While these would do exactly what I want, it would be tedious as there are may 10 min vids of my uber driving. I had hope there was a setting that would keep the original file date and time from the original .avi to the converted .mp4.
I guess its time to get a few more HD.
thanks!
