How to disable a certain hardware encoder in ConvertXtoVideo

Post by Brainiarc7 »

Hello guys,

If you need to disable a specific hardware encoder in ConvertXtoVideo for any reason, such as:

1. Low video quality (Common in Intel QuickSync on Intel Sandybridge parts and Nvidia CUDA)
2. Platform instability (Common with Khronos OpenCL implementation with Nvidia GPUs)
3. Unsatisfactory performance gain (Common with Khronos OpenCL implementation on both Intel, Nvidia and older AMD GPUs prior to Redwood).

You can do so by going under Settings> Video> Hardware optimizations and setting the concurrent number (of the encoder) from the default 2 to 0.
That way, the hardware encoder will get selectively skipped without requiring you to disable hardware optimizations entirely as a workaround.
