Conversion from MKV to AVI

When i convert a mkv file from YouT*** to Avi format it will not play on my TV it tells me it does not support this codec :(
Any help will be grateful :D

What is your brand and model of your DVD player/ or TV? You need to search the manual or google to see what codecs it supports and then convert to a profile with those or create your own custom profile.
Do you have a file you know that plays on your TV? If so then you can create a conversion profile based on that file that works by creating a custom profile and clicking on "get profile from a sample file".

I have the same problem (see my reply 25 12 2017)
When I convert MKV files or DVD (videoTS), there is no audio on my bluray player (USB input) (with H264 encoder and aac audio 6 channel)
When I convert the same files with other programs, like Apowersoft MKV converter, Wondershare video converter or DVD Fab, there is not a problem at all. (with H264 encoder and aac audio 6 channel)
When I convert to MP4 with H264 encoder and aac audio 6 channel, all works fine
