Bug: Subtitles

Post by Wout000 »

Whenever I encode an MKV to an MP4 (h.264) and add custom subtitles (SRT), they are not encoded in the resulting file.
They play fine in the preview and they do appear in the main screen to encode but the resulting file doesn't have them encoded.

A quick glance at the resulting file with MediaInfo shows that the MP4 carries an unknown subtitle format.
Apparently something is wrong when muxing in subtitles.

Thanks for the bug report.

MP4 can have embedded subtitles (to answer your question in the bug report).
Somehow something goes wrong while muxing them in with the encoded video. There is a subtitle stream, but as you said it's an unknown stream "à".

I thought about posting my log, but it has no relevant info whatsoever on what could cause this.

I know they can have embedded subtitles I think part of the problem is that in fact, the software shows they will be dvd subtitles format for the conversion when in fact they should be embedded for this output format. Anyway it will be fixed probably next week. Sorry for the delay a previous version probably doesn't have this bug.

No problem, I'm just testing the software as of now and seeing what bugs pop up.
I enjoyed using ConvertXtoDVD for many years and I will enjoy Video Converter too so it seems but at the moment i'm just testing it :)

Hello,

I tested in 1.2.0.10 and I can no longer confirm the problem so I think it is fixed, can you try with it
