What are some good alternative to VLC media player?

Post by ehanpaul8 »

I've always used VLC until for some reasons it can't play torrent files (.mkv). It crashes whenever I try to play the aforementioned type of files and refuses to open for few seconds even other files.

I like VLC for its versatility and customisability. If there similar media player you know, please suggest.

What are the origins of your files?
(we'll launch a new version of VMP soon...)

My media player of choice is Media Player Classic Home Cinema. I've been using it for years. Plays containers, CD's (I think.), and DVD's (For the most part. Some navigational and playback issues exist.). It came preinstalled with K-Lite Codec Pack Mega which I've also been using for years.

I thought MPC didn't support Blu-Ray playback.
