Very Good

Post by sverkalo »

This is a very good attempt for a good player.

But you can't re size the subtitles or alter the color.

And yes the audio is a little low.

But very good overall.

It even plays my Avid .movs with DNxHD Codec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the only player that it does!!!

(given you have the codecs at the pc).

I will push that at Avid Forums.

Well done.

And please keep this option alive!

Could you upload the latest beta.

The one on the site isn't the latest.

And the latest seems a lot faster.

However it can't play m2t (HDV files).
This is a bit of a shock since it can play a lot more "difficult" files.

Thanks for you post on the Avid forums!
I do suggest changing the link of VSO Player to the product page, that way the link will last forever - it will be better for those that look for our software
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/vmp ... player.php

You can keep the link to the beta if you want (but over time that link will probably disappear).

We appreciate your feedback, the developer will get back to you in a week or so with regarding your specific comments.

The problem is that the permanent link leads to an older version than the beta link.

I just updated the version on the VSO website
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/vmp ... player.php

but as I mentioned you can link and to the product page (for more info) and a link to the latest beta, if you want for the latest beta you can link to http://forums.vso-software.fr/latest-vm ... 15145.html (rather than the .exe file)

Each time I double click on a file on a folder (.mov file) among other files (.mov again) player loads it at a playlist.
I don't want this and I can't stop if it from making it.

I have 5 files on a folder for example. I open the one. Everything is fine.
Clicking on another in the folder, doesn't play in the player but it's being loaded in the playlist instead.
I don't know how a pic will help here. It is simple.

I don't know what Claire will have to say, but that seems like the proper behaviour to me. If I have a media player open and playing a video, I may decide to add more videos to the playlist while I'm watching the present one. I do not want the presently playing video to be replaced by the new ones I'm adding, and would expect that, when selected from a folder, they would be added to the playlist in the order in which I select them from the folders. Then, if I have my player options set to play one after another, I would expect that the second playlist file will play when the first one is finished. Alternatively, I expect that if I double-click a file somewhere in the playlist then that video will replace whichever one is presently playing.

JoeB

I think that the user should decide if a clip should be in a playlist.
The wrong with it is that I don't want it to be in any playlist.
I just want to play a file by file without adding them to any playlist.

I'm not sure that I get your point. As far as I know, all software video players put the video they're playing into a temporary playlist in the playlist window of the player. When you close the player then that playlist will be emptied unless you choose an option to save it, in which case you'll be prompted to give it a specific name of your choosing. I'm not sure why you would expect this player to be any different, but perhaps I'm missing something.

WMP doesn't do this.
WMP Classic doesn't do this.
At which player are you referring to?

The two players I use are VLC Player and GOM player. I don't use WMP or VSO's player.

And I don't see what the problem is in any event. In other words, I still don't understand why it matters if a selected file appears in the playlist window. Does it cause some disruption that I'm not able to visualize at present? Just curious....
