BBC iPlayer still not working?

This quote from the customer testimonial page led me to believe that this issue had been resolved:

But for me the new version, 5.0.1.19, behaves the same way as the old one did when it stopped working with BBC iPlayer around September/October last year. It just keeps downloading fragments.

So, am I the only one with this problem?

no it has been reported and should be supported in a future version, I cannot give you a date.

VSO Downloader 4.5.0.17 works excellent with BBC iPlayer but version 5.0.1.22 does not function correctly

I have 5.0.1.26.

It still doesn't work for me. What happens is this.

It starts downloading fragments with unknown file names. However, one of these unknown file names keeps downloading not being a fragment any longer. It keeps on until it reaches what seems to be a reasonable file size for the target file. Then the post processing starts and it looks it's going according to plan but when the post processing is done there's nothing left.

I took some screen shots so you can follow the progress.

I should mention that I managed to download it with a freeware application (which has a in my opinion a very complicated user interface so I much prefer VSO).

I confirm the media is detected but is not able to merge the streams, what software support it?

When you start get_iplayer it will do some preliminary talking with the host so you let that finish.

The command for before-mentioned video would be:

get_iplayer --tvmode=best --subtitles http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... -episode-1

It will then do some more talking with the host before starting the download.

It sounds like I'm knowledgeable with Command Line Interfaces but I would never had managed the above without some serious hand-holding.

On the 3rd of March I informed you that the issue was solved. But now the BBC has probably changed something so downloading is not working anymore. Even version 4.5.0.17, that kept on working untill recently, is affected and does not work anymore. Please update your program so we can download again from BBC iPlayer.

If you are having this problem make sure your browser has flash installed then VSO will pick up the .flv file and download it complete.

I have Shockwave Flash installed (NPSWF64_25_0_0_148.dll)in Firefox. And it still is not working.

Yes, with internet explorer all went well. It picks up the .flv file instead of trying to download the dash protocol and failing. You should do something to make VSO Downloader work with the dash protocol so it will work well together with Firefox and other browsers who abandoned flash.
