MP4 H264 Conversion Problem :(

Post by Budda_357 »

Hi, Guys
Since updating from V4.2.6.2 to V4.3.0.16 and we are back with the old large file sizes for Mp4 H264 conversions using the VSO Downloader program.
With version 16 the bitrate for the conversion for all of the five .flv files that I downloaded was “Overall bit rate 1 090 Kbps”
So downloaded and installed latest official V4.3.0.17 which appears to be released the day after V X.16

Code: Select all

General Complete name VSO Downloader\Indian Summer [1993].flv
Format :Flash Video
File size :384 MiB
Duration : 1h 38mn
Overall bit rate : 547 Kbps
the size of the flv download is 384 Megs
The result of the Mp4 H264 conversion for Vx.17

Code: Select all

Complete name VSO Downloader\Indian Summer [1993].mp4
Format : MPEG-4
Format profile : Base Media
Codec ID : isom
File size :781 MiB
Duration : 1h 38mn
Overall bit rate :1 114 Kbps
Now has slightly higher bitrate and the Mp4 file size is 781Megs Ok playback is still good but using a CX2V 1.6.0.11 with a created custom profile to convert end up with a 367Meg Mp4 H264 that is still a good playback file.
With the earlier the downloader V4.2.6.2 .flv conversion to Mp4 H264 result

Code: Select all

Complete name VSO Downloader\Movies\Cake [2014].mp4
Format : MPEG-4
Format profile : Base Media
Codec ID : isom
File size:313 MiB
Duration : 1h 43mn
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
Overall bit rate : 424 Kbps
I end up with a 313Meg file that has good Q playback. :(

we are working on the remux integration that's why your video is reencoded, it will be faster in the next release.

in the pre-release version available on the product page (under the download button) you can activate the remux in the settings > conversion > remux
