Better Quality CUDA or HQ ?

Post by BenieUK »

What will get me the very best quality from my bluray movie, set no size limit and select either Playstation H264 1080p HQ or H264 1080p CUDA?

I know CUDA is much faster but is that at a quality loss.. and how much ..

Thank You

Cuda is Nvidias software to allow use of gfx-card hardware.
There should be no effect on output between Cuda and on-Cuda conversion if same settings are applied.

Ok i have done some testing on a trailer of around 4mins on my bluray with setting no size limit...

PS3 1080p CUDA > quality great (id give it 9/10), file size 134mb

PS3 1080p HQ > quality great (id give it 9/10), file size 42mb

so it seems with CUDA you get GREAT SPEED and the SAME QUALITY but at a BIG INCREASE in file size :!:

Looks like its the slower HQ setting for me
