Audio out of sync

Post by eon_designs »

Well after many conversions and several burnt discs keep getting the same problem - audio is completely out of sync.

I have tried burning as both NTSC and PAL, all convert fine and play fine on the computer but as soon as you burn them to a disc and try them on a stand alone DVD player or even Blu Ray player the audio is completely out of sync. Both players can play either NTSC or PAL so that is not an issue.

I have tried burning the discs via Nero and ImageBurn - all result in out of sync films when played on standalone DVD players.

Any suggestions?

can you post your log file.

The BluRay I was using was Armageddon.

I'll convert it again and save out the log file - where would I find it?

you will find the log file here
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\VSO

(you may need to request to see display hidden folders if you do not see the folder AppData)

you were using what version of the software?

the file is on your harddrive, what software did you use to get it there.

Did you rip it from the physical disk?

Please, can you try with last version :

http://forums.vso-software.fr/vso-blu-r ... 12998.html

Can you tell me if the film you're trying to convert is a multiversion type (like short & long version)?

Thank you.

Hello

I'll try the Ultimate version (0.0.2.3) and let you know how it plays

As far as I can tell it is not a multi version. There only seems to be one track to choose.

Thanks. eon

edit

I will test something similar to see if I can reproduce.

Are you sure the version you have on your hard drive is in sync before the converting?

Yes, the version on the HD plays ok, and also used DVDFAB to convert the BluRay down to a BD9 and BD5 size. Burn both onto a disc and they play in perfect sync on a standalone BluRay player.

If the converted project play fine on your computer (do you use VIDEO_TS.IFO file or do you play .VOB files separately?), it seems the problem is with the burn process or because the converted file structure is corrupted.

Before I add the function to clean the output folder before starting the procees in next version, can you delete the output folder manually before starting your test?

Maybe some old files (from partially converted project) are there and can cause these issues (because they are merged with new encoded files...)

We should try to reproduce by starting to convert, stopping the process then retry a complete process without cleaning the output folder...

Thank you for your tests

When playing from the computer I can select both the IFO file or the VOB files, they all play fine.

One thing I am going to try is using the burner within this software. Forgot to say that I was not burning to a disc from within the BluRay to DVD software. I have been using Nero and Imageburn instead. (I like to test the files on the hard drive before burning)

However, I will use the ultimate version and convert and burn directly within the software and get back to you.

I'll also use a completely different output folder in case there were some old files within.

Well did a couple of other tests: Using the Ultimate version did not make any difference - the end result was still out of sync.

Did another conversion using a different BluRay - This time used Daybreakers and Terminator Salvation - unfortunately again these were slightly out of sync. Although Terminator Salvation was very very close, no where near as bad as Armageddon?

I tried to let the Blu-Ray Converter software do the burning too, but then after reading this forum found that the burning part has not been implemented yet.

Previously I would use ClownBD to extract and combine the M2TS files into one file, I would then load this into ConvertXtoDVD and let that run. The end results would play ok on both the computer and a stand alone DVD player? Its a long and faffy way to do it, so really hope you can get this software working ok? Fingers crossed :-)

Can you try by using a single file profile type (like PS3 720p)?

Thank you.

You read my mind - I am just in the process of trying a single file. Currently trying the Generic High Defenition 720p. I'll let you know how I get on.

I tried to burn the other already converted files - but the burning option just hung at 0%

Thanks. eon
