Re: conversion cancelled by user
Probably some h264/265 files in the mix. VSO has a conversion tool for those types of files to get them compliant with CXD's current version. Search for it on their website and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, I would try converting each one one at a time in CXD by themselves to see which fi...

Re: problems abound
To test the drive itself, you could make an investment in a USB burner. Then, you can test your discs on that. If you get, say, 3 or 5 good burns on these Riteks on the USB drive, then you can probably say it's the other burner at fault. However, if the discs fail on the USB drive, it could also mea...

Re: problems abound
If you want to keep using the Ritek discs you've invested in and want to put off replacing the drive if possible because of the cost, there may be a free fix, if it's available. Check for a firmware update for your drive. A new firmware update might update the write strategies for Ritek media for yo...

Re: Lifetime License
Just to clarify. When you say "one more year," you mean a new year, right? Meaning, you can keep renewing year after year or you only get 1 renewal year? I know this question sounds stupid :) but it did make me pause and consider.
Thanks!
Thanks!

7.0.0.81 Beta apparently addressed this issue. Thanks!

Update cancelled by user every time I open the software
Beginning yesterday, every time I open CXD 7.0.0.80, I get a window saying Update failed. Update cancelled by user. With a close button. All I did was open the software! I didn't cancel the update check in any way, shape, or form.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: PAL to NTSC conversions errors
I can verify it was the way those 3 particular discs were authored that is causing the problem. There were 4 PAL DVD releases of the 1988 Robocop animated series. 3 Volume discs and a complete series of all 12 episodes on one DVD-9. Each of the 3 Volumes has the problem I described, but the 12 episo...

Re: PAL to NTSC conversions errors
Yeah, DVDShrink is ancient, but it still does the job (Except for structurally protected discs.) and still works on Windows after 15 years. I find it useful for "extracting" contents out of a DVD for things like importing into CXD.

Re: PAL to NTSC conversions errors
I don't think that's the same problem here. Conversion completes, but it has a pause at the beginning. I've encountered this before in the past, actually, now that memory serves me correctly.
I don't have third party AV installed, so I couldn't take that action even if I wanted to try it.

Re: PAL to NTSC conversions errors
It does appear to be a problem with how all 3 of these DVD's were authored as it's present on every episode across all 3 discs.

Re: PAL to NTSC conversions errors
I uploaded the first minute of an input file to the requested repository. It didn't matter if I used DVDShrink to isolate the 1 minute of footage or used the VIDEO_TS extracted from the source disc. If I play the contents I uploaded in Media Player Classic Home Cinema, there is no pause the start of...

Re: PAL to NTSC conversions errors
The output is a VIDEO_TS folder, but I first noticed it playing a disc I burned with a VIDEO_TS. Even when VIDEO_TS.IFO is played from hard disk in Media Player Classic Home Cinema, it happens. Now, I didn't think about this, but all 3 PAL discs I tested input with are somewhat identical. They were ...

PAL to NTSC conversions errors
PAL to NTSC conversions all have the same problem with 7.0.0.80. I tried 3 different PAL DVD's and got the same results. What happens is the output begins with paused video. When the playback resumes, it is missing the first few seconds of the audio. I haven't done a PAL to NTSC conversion in a long...

Re: Conversion canceled by user
I wasn't entirely certain extracting the files to SRT and importing that into CXD would work, but it apparently would.

Re: Conversion canceled by user
Oh, you did. I overlooked that. Unfortunately, the "laws" of actual RAM versus virtual memory aren't, well, laws. For instance, how can a web browser like Firefox, take up more than 50% of available RAM with just a few tabs open? You could try changing the defaults of Windows virtual memor...

Re: Conversion canceled by user
Whatever CXD is doing at that point when the virtual memory low occurs, it is apparently writing a lot of data to the swapfile. This would depend on the size of the input file and whatever processing is being done. That could, also, be related to what kind of video compression is used on the source ...

Re: Conversion canceled by user
[quote=eddie11013 post_id=108798 time=1677871808 user_id=106580] Actually I have a write up on that: MKV Subtitle Extractor = MKVExtractGUI-2 Don’t see how that would help. I mean the subtitles work fine when I view the ‘mkv’ files on my desktop PC. If the conversion ‘fails’ with the subtitle tracks...

Re: Conversion canceled by user
I don't know how you'd do this, but I would think there must be software out there that can extract the subtitle track from a container file. Then, you could manually add this .SRT, which I'd guess it would be, file as a user added subtitle track in CXD.

Re: Converting Blu-Ray to DVD
Ah! I didn't see the Older Products category.
So, would ConvertXToVideo do a better job of it or Blu-Ray Converter?
