Suggest install latest version 7.0.0.73 and tick the three cleaning options.

I am using latest version 7.0.0.73 and do not have these issues.
If dvd appears blank, maybe check settings in case have converted it to a folder on pc instead of to dvd

With the "advance edit function" exactly which function does not work for you as I cannot locate anything called advance edit. e.g Is it one of the ones in "Edit Tileset"?

try rechecking options when set up the files to convert. If no burn popup window, then probably set to write to a file instead of a disk

sorry I can't help with tech issues. But if doing testing, worth buying a rewriteable BD 25 disk. So if burn fails, you do not lose a good (non rewriteable) BD Disk.
With BD50 disks, I always have issues with them not writing correctly.

Maybe you could contact the company you bought the download off and ask them for help i.e how can you do a backup of the download to DVD
