Re: Major Issues

I had never burnt a Blu-ray so I wasn't sure, but it sure looks mighty weird. It's like 10 or more rings rather than a solid area. And some rings are thin and some are thick. I wonder what in the world could cause that. The burner is new, the disc is taiyo-yuden, so high quality, etc. In case I don'...

Major Issues

I finally burned a Blu-ray and it's unusable. The first time I put it in the player (an oppo 103d, oppo players are known for playing most everything) it kept saying "loading" and would never load it or let me even eject it or do anything. I had to force the player to shut down. Then after...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

Yes that seems to have fixed it. Thanks very much. I am going to assume that would fix it in bluray format also, but I have only tried avchd format so far. I am not sure if there was ever an issue with Blu-ray format, since I didn't test that yet. By the way, does anyone know some settings that woul...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

No, it's not that, because remember I have burned these same shows with convertxtoDVD and it plays in 4:3 flawlessly. It's something that is only happening through this program. On a side note, convertxtoHD must do something different when determining how much can fit on a disc at a given encoding q...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

Either way, someone from VSO said with the structure for Blu-ray and AVCHD it doesn't matter what that other number is, so that is not the problem in my case. If indeed they can do something about it, I wish they would, but it doesn't look like they're going to and I can't just keep not burning any ...

Re: PcSetup

Thanks. Support had emailed me saying I could just ignore or delete it, also. I was just being sure because it had some sort of errors in it and was talking about some other windows version and I panicked and thought it checked my version and thought I had some other version. lol.

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

Well the same player shows the same shows in 4:3 on the original discs and discs made with convertxtoDVD. So if they used 10/11 then the player recognizes it just fine. It's something different about it in convertxtoHD. So I don't know what to do, but I can't wait around for a long time for it to be...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

I bet that is the problem. I emailed them in my support email conversation and mentioned this. I see in my logs the same thing. Since the menu shows in 4:3 that almost certainly means if they change aspect to 8/9 for video it will solve the issue for me. I hope they will agree to change it... I hope...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

Only thing about providing a file is of course all shows would be copyrighted. I'[d have to figure out something to use that wouldn't be copyrighted just to be sure it;s ok. I was trying it in my computer, but VLC wouldn't play it. Kind of weird that media players usually don't play avchds or blu-ra...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

I already did the USB test, as mentioned earlier, and again it stretched. Just because only I report this means nothing. Most bugs on here were only reported by one person and were found to indeed be bugs. I have tried with several types of files. The file from a dvd, an avi, and a mp4. All three ty...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

At least I finally got the side masks on my kuro black. I have what's still the best tv/monitor there has ever been in many ways (pro-101fd), but they're a bit of a pain doing various things on in the service menu and FIANLLY I found where to change side masks to make them black instead of grey. So ...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

I tried it on a thumb drive now and it is stretched on that too. I know usually settings on a tv or player are to blame for this type of thing, but there's no way the menu would be 4:3 if that was the issue. Why would it make a menu properly be 4:3 and the titles not? That would not be settings on t...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

what do I have to do to format a thumb drive where I can use that format of AVCHD? I could do that if you don't want to try an actual disc, then I could know if the "for optical drive" setting is what is causing the issue. I am still worried that this program is not useable, as so many bug...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

It doesn't put all discs at 16:9. Like I said, I have burned discs from convertxtoDVD and every one of them shows the proper 4:3. Also the menu from this one shows in 4:3 so that right there shows it doesn't always stretch to 16:9. I have the Blu-ray player upconvert to 1080p and then the tv is in d...

Re: convertxtohd 1 3 0 21

It is supposed to be able to do it. This has way too many bugs to where I can't really do anything with it until they fix some. And I haven't even tried to burn a Blu-ray yet, only AVCHD discs, so when I try to make one like you did I will probably have issues also. I am doing the same thing as you,...

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

Here is one example. This is a pretty long log because I ahd to keep canceling due to my computer making weird noises wqhen trying t convert multiple videos at once. I don't know which bbcode to use. I have seen it look better than this. Also, the input file in this log is not always the type I used...

Re: convertxtohd 1 3 0 21

It must be some kind of bug if it wouldn't burn, unless it was bigger than the disc size. I am sure going to be mad if I try burning one and it takes that long then fails. Also what confuses me is both in convertxtoDVD and convertxtoHD I have the burn iso file checked yet it always has the folder st...

Re: Converting HD PAL to NTSC files/programs, then to Blu-ra

oh ok thanks. I got confused and didn't realize you meant data disc. My player plays most types of files, but data discs usually seem to have more issues in the middle of playback, it seems.

Re: Converting HD PAL to NTSC files/programs, then to Blu-ra

Why would a Blu-ray player not play a blu-ray? I thought the whole point of convertxto HD is to make blu-rays, which are obviously meant to be played in Blu-ray players. Are you saying this program is not meant to make blu-rays for Blu-ray players?

Re: Encoding, Not Filling Discs, Etc...

I kept burning and comparing discs for a long time to the point of having a headache and I just don't know what to think or do anymore. It's so frustrating trying to figure out which settings to use. For instance, on one show I noticed noise outlining someone's arms. Well, it seemed more obvious whe...
