Converting Blu-Ray to DVD

The way CXD currently works, it will convert a Blu-Ray source to DVD, but it will only convert the main feature title Any other streams or extras are not available for input. I'm looking for something that will convert all available title sets from a Blu-Ray to DVD. Would VSO's ConvertXToVideo do th...

Re: Problem with ConvertXtodvd 7.0.0.78

I was not aware the burn logs displays the MID/DID, but if you do see a Disc ID that has CMC in it, those are CMC Magnetics discs. They are the absolute bottom of the barrel manufacturer. Their discs cause a lot of problems. If you are going to use Verbatim, be sure you use the RIGHT Verbatim as CMC...

Re: Problem with ConvertXtodvd 7.0.0.78

Have you tried creating VIDEO_TS output to HDD and opening VIDEO_TS.IFO in playback software on your PC? Do you still get skips and jumps in playback then? If you don't, then it's the discs you're using or your drive is not burning those discs properly. Have you tried playing these burnt discs in bo...

Re: Code more than 2 files?

Oh, so you were trying to Merge title sets unintentionally? Instead of adding each one as a separate Title? I haven't tried Merging titles in a while, but I do know it worked for more than 2 inputs some time ago. Let me test Merging more than 2 files and see if it's a bug in Merging titles. If it is...

Re: Code more than 2 files?

Then, it sounds like you've got a Windows issue. Unless you backup Windows regularly, these kinds of solutions, which can generally only be fixed by restoring back to when the software worked, is to completely reinstall Windows. I would hold off on that, though, until a last resort. And what I'd do ...

Re: Code more than 2 files?

Did you try the suggested full uninstall and reinstall where you checked the 3 boxes to remove all existing configurations, files, etc.?

Re: popup box come up with Enabled video streaming

It's not so much the version of Windows you have as the type of PC you have. An older PC may be 32 bit, which will not run the 64 bit version of a program. And only some older versions of AVIDeMux are 32 bit.

You will most likely want the Windows x64 version, as that's the most common Windows install now. But, you may have an older PC.

Re: popup box come up with Enabled video streaming

No problem. No, AVIDeMux is not software that will create a DVD. AVIDeMux will just create a new MP4, etc. container file, like the one you're having trouble getting CXD to use. You just load the new AVIDeMux saved MP4 file in place of the file you were loading that wasn't working in CXD. Then see i...

Re: popup box come up with Enabled video streaming

Try what I suggested. :) While it isn't a DVD converter, it should convert your file to a file CXD won't choke on. I do it every time CXD chokes on an input and I can't think of a single time where it didn't fix the issue.

Re: popup box come up with Enabled video streaming

If that's what that error means, you can try something else, too, in the meantime, if you're inclined. Download and install a piece of freeware called AVIDeMux. Load this file where you get this pop up on it into AVIDeMux. Change the Video from Copy to something else; I use x264. I would also change...

Re: popup box come up with Enabled video streaming

Video streaming sounds more you're trying to download a video from an online site versus converting a container to DVD. I don't know why CXD would pop up a window like that.

Can you capture a screenshot of what precisely pops up when you encounter this?

Re: Code more than 2 files?

7.0.0.78 could be the latest beta version. The latest gold release is 7.0.0.77. Or 7.0.0.78 could have been a typo.

Next, if you haven't already, I would try yoyo's suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling CXD with those options mentioned.

Re: Resulting VIDEO_TS files badly pixelated.

CXD sometimes does not properly fully import the complete duration of a file. I've generally only seen it on .VRO files, though.

Re: Code more than 2 files?

There's one way to see if the file is corrupt. You say if you add a 3rd file, conversion fails. Add 3 files to a job and try to convert them. If it fails to convert those 3 files all together, then try converting each one one at a time by itself. If each converts on its own, then you know it's not a...

Re: Code more than 2 files?

Unless you used the same files before where it was working with more than 2 files and it STILL fails at 2 files, then, most likely, it's failing on this 2nd input file for being corrupt for some reason. Try encoding each one separately as a test to see if you can isolate if it's one of the two files...

Re: Resulting VIDEO_TS files badly pixelated.

In the meantime, try this. Install a piece of freeware called AVIDeMux. Load this input file you're having pixelation on it and save it with a different Video codec. Don't use Copy. Try x264. Those seem to work for me. Save the resulting output file, which given it appears to be a Blu-Ray rip of abo...

Re: Resulting VIDEO_TS files badly pixelated.

Are these pixelated VIDEO_TS results played when you open VIDEO_TS.IFO from a hard drive or when you play a DVD disc you've burned the VIDEO_TS to? If it's a disc, it could be a poor playback compatibility with lower quality media, if you're using that.

Re: Beta testers?

If I may interrupt here with a related question. Does that hardware option only work with dedicated graphics cards or does it work if your monitor is using UHD and connected simply by HDMI to the motherboard?

Thanks!
