Question about hardware acceleration
Exactly what sort of hardware do you need for CXD's hardware acceleration option? For instance, do you need a dedicated graphics card like an nVIDIA? I ask because I enabled the option, but I doubt it does me any good. I used to have an nVIDIA graphics card in my last PC, but this current one uses U...

Re: Question about running a project
I never tried editing anything from the default template before, so I don't know if it's "new" or not. This is the first time I've ever tried to change the menu behavior beyond what I've been using for years. And this was after I did the full uninstall and reinstall with the clearing optio...

Re: Question about running a project
I discovered what was preventing me from doing it, but it may be a bug, or, at least, undesired behavior. I always change the default Menu Options setting for Don't create title menu for single title. I always uncheck this option because even if I only have 1 title, I want the main menu to always lo...

Yes, I'm familiar with that; I've done it before. I'll reply back with my results later.

Re: Question about running a project
I tried doing what you said, but it didn't work. When I tried to select the Duration options, like Use a still image, they never become selectable. They're always greyed out. This may be because you're using an older version. The newest version, these options don't appear to be selectable, which app...

Re: How to Enter a Hard Return
I'm not entirely sure you can do it with a hard return, but a workaround might be to add trailing spaces between what you want to be the first line and the second. This will require a little trial and error to get the margins right, though.

Re: Question about running a project
Thanks! Those settings look like precisely what I needed. I failed to see the Still Image check box.

Re: Question about running a project
I'm sorry, I used the wrong terminology. By "animated menu," I wanted to remove the audio and video that plays "underneath" the menu buttons on sub menus. I thought that was what meant by animated menu. I see animated menu just means the animation that plays when you select a but...

Re: Question about running a project
I've often thought of toying around with the template editor. Basically, all I'd like to do is take the default menu and settings CXD provides for projects and change the menu option so there aren't animated menus. Can the template editor do that?

Re: Question about running a project
Ah, yes, another release bug where the button overlays don't work. When the initial gold release of 7 came out, the menu buttons didn't work either. Well, that option to disable the menu animations is a bit cumbersome. I'd have to remember to disable it on EVERY project I create. I'd much prefer a w...

Re: Dvd doesn't play in dvd player
That shouldn't come into play here. If he's using a VIDEO_TS as a source, it is either unencrypted or already decrypted, otherwise, it would be useless as an input. He's most likely using a container file. I don't think even newer container files have any kind of DRM on them, and definitely older co...

Re: Question about running a project
BTW, now that the question has been brought up, how does one disable animated menus in CXD? I went through the Options but didn't see anything immediately that jumped out at me that would disable them.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Dvd doesn't play in dvd player
The problem is probably it's a Sony player. Sony has made a lot of junk since 2002. Around that time, I bought a Sony DVD/VCR combo. I used a Sony DVD-R in a Sony DVD burner that played on my Sony PS2... but NOT on the Sony DVD/VCR combo! :o Said disc was not compatible. Yet, I used everything with ...

Re: Question about running a project
Yeah, that's probably why I noticed the audio out of sync. I never altered those options, but I would guess what was happening was the video was being pulled from somewhere else other than the start of the source, but the audio was always pulled from the start of the source, maybe? I know it didn't ...

Re: Question about running a project
I have noticed audio hiccups with the menus on the latest version. For instance, I've seen cases where the audio is out of sync with the video. I tolerate those because I don't really care about full motion video menus. I should probably disable those to reduce the size of the VIDEO_TS on disc.

Re: Question about running a project
I don't see anything related to VHS options in the Trim function.
Oh, wait, I see. It's under Image Settings. It's not the Trim function, but it is in an area where you find the Trim function.

Re: Tip for successful burning of DVDs especially DL
You will always have a better quality burn at lower speeds. The quality of the burn/disc determines whether you have playback issues and will affect longer load times. So, you have to experiment a little. For instance, I've found 8x on Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD+R DL in my drives have always burned ...
