while anydvd was installed on both PCs where i testet this, it wasn't running on either of them while i tried to read the game disc.

you could burn that 1080p file as AVCHD discs, but this has nothing to do with convertxtodvd, so you're in the wrong forum here.
also i don't know, if there are any AVCHD creator programs out there, which support disc spanning.

completion time bug

it's not that much of a hassle, but still a bug.. as you can see in the screenshot, the completion time reported is missing about one hour.
blindwrite version is 6.3.1.7

I was simply asking if it was the expected behavior so I take it that it is. yes, it's perfectly normal behaviour. i have an i7-870 @ 4,1 GHz (HT disabled) and while converting 1080p blu-ray sources, i too get around 40% usage. also as in your system, in mine the harddisks seem not to be the limiti...

i'm using anydvdhd for removing the copy protection and eac3to to rip the streams i want, to the harddrive (video -> mkv, audio -> ac3 or dts, subtitles -> sup).
i'm perfectly happy with my procedure :)

I think this topic has slightly digressed from the origina. - asking about a large 27GB file being converted to 1.8GB could you please convert the blu-ray file again to DVD5, but this time use the short project settings, together with the 2-pass option and tell us how the result looks to you? thank...

maybe this is the problem? while the audio gets copied, the video's framerate is being converted 23.976 -> 25.00.
try to set audio encoding option manually to AC3 2.0.

2-pass encoding should help, if you reach the maximum disc size and see pixelation somewhere in the movie.

i know this is about PAL speedup, i was just pointing out that the following statement:

"Using 24 frames instead of 25 means that movie is shorter."

was wrong, that's all.

exactly what i said.. 24 fps plays slower and is therefore longer than a 25 fps movie.

no, the opposite is the case. when you playback a movie @ 24 fps, it has a longer runtime than the same movie @ 25 fps.

well, it may have never really been good, but at least it did work fine for me before version 3.6.x.xxx.
a fix would be nice, as i don't want to be stuck with version 3.5.3 forever..

hello, I really don't know how to convert this sort of thing, do I add both files? Do I need to install the avs script? I guess that would make sense. Could you point me in the right direction? you need to have avisynth installed or else the scripts won't work at all. download avisynth 2.5.8 here: ...

avisynth support broken in newer versions

hello, for me, the avisynth support seems to be broken in newer convertxtodvd versions. when i now open avs script files, convertxtodvd detects completely wrong details (e.g. resolution of 596x32 instead of 720x576 or 24,000 fps instead of 23,976) and when the script contains the command ConvertToYU...
