Re: Cannot convert file at all

Thanks for that! I THINK I mentioned it had playback issues around 35 minutes after conversion, but I wouldn't go back just to check. :) Yeah, the source file plays fine on a PC as far as I could tell through just scanning through it. But, it doesn't even load on my Blu-Ray standalone player which s...

Re: Cannot convert file at all

Yes, UHD Converter converts the file and yes CXD will load the UHD Converter output, but the output by UHD Converter is NOT correct. Forward to approximately 40 minutes into the output and it's either solid black with audio or a still image with audio, I forget which. At least it's not correct on my...

Re: Cannot convert file at all

MUCH better. Less than half an hour to upload to my cloud. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1e1ib6NEBX0ENG_ibIA12bLY8z90OI8_R?usp=sharing The file is archived in a multi-part ZIP file split at the 100 MB mark to make for less likelihood of a bomb out during download requiring restarting all ov...

Re: Cannot convert file at all

Well, FileGator is a non-starter. After an hour, 0% had been uploaded, and it eventually stopped doing anything. It cut off the transfer itself. So, I'll have to up to a cloud and get back to you on that later.

Re: Cannot convert file at all

I'm uploading the file to All VSO Software cannot convert this file in the File repository, but I think that's going to be a non-starter. I've got like less than 20 Mb/S upload speed. I think I'll have to cancel this upload and just put it on a cloud and link it here.

Re: Cannot convert file at all

I'm starting to think it's simply a poorly encoded file. Given where I found the file on the HD, it appears to have been downloaded. My experience has been like 50% of all downloaded containers have some problem with them. Most common being audio out of sync with video.

Re: Cannot convert file at all

The file in question was on the hard drive of a friend's son who died. He asked me to preserve the contents as much as I could and I found a file he apparently downloaded from somewhere. Don't know the origin of it beyond that and I can't provide a link. I can upload it, but it's like 1.15 GB. Howev...

Cannot convert file at all

I've got an MKV that absolutely will not load in CDX. "One or more files cannot be loaded. Make sure it is a valid media file." The MKV plays on my PC, but CXD will not load it. The MKV will not play on my Blu-Ray player which supports MKV. AVIDeMux will not convert it. Chokes on the audio...

Re: How to create simple 2 video menu DVD

Cougar has the right option. Under Default Settings --> Menu Options check the box that says Skip root menu initially.

Re: Program keeps Crashing on Windows 11

The first thing I'd check is if it's the specific input you're using that is crashing the app. Are you always loading the same input on each troubleshooting step you took? If you are or even if you're not, I'd try to establish a baseline first. I'd take some inputs you know worked before and made a ...

Re: Quick question

I've seen it happen before. I've even seen cases where some discs in a cake stack were fine but others would not properly write.

OP: Glad you got it resolved!

Re: Quick question

I am guessing the OP meant they got a bad batch of TDK 8x DVD-R's. That a new supply they tried worked fine. But, maybe not. :)

What exactly are the smart copy settings? I don't believe I know what those are.

Re: Quick question

That's... odd. A BIOS update generally wouldn't address a single media type issue. A drive's firmware update would, but a BIOS update would generally only update issues with all media you'd be using.

Re: Quick question

I've found TDK to be generally higher class media. I burned some about 20 years ago that I recently read back in to image files with ImgBurn to reburn on Verbatim DataLife Plus AZO series. They all read in fine. And their CD-R's are still readable after 20 years, too. Since it seems these same TDK D...

Re: Quick question

I would be interested to see what ImgBurn has to say on these TDK 8x DVD's. I don't let CXD burn my projects, just create VIDEO_TS output that I then use ImgBurn to burn to DVD-R. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say it's some kind of bug in CXD since other DVD's work. However, it could be specif...

Re: Weird Problem

You would need to do the copy in Windows/File Explorer I mentioned to really check for CSS. If you just "played" the DVD's in PC software, that would automatically decrypt any existing CSS, so it's not possible to determine if the discs are or aren't CSS protected just by playing them in P...

Re: Weird Problem

The issue is most likely false positives from the vinpower unit. If you want to check if there really is CSS on these DVD's, copy the VIDEO_TS contents from the discs in File Explorer to a temporary location and attempt to open VIDEO_TS.IFO from that folder in some PC player software. If the DVD pla...

Re: Weird Problem

What actually is telling you the disc CXD made is CSS protected? It has to be some software interface telling you this.
