Re: Dvd doesn't play in dvd player
That shouldn't come into play here. If he's using a VIDEO_TS as a source, it is either unencrypted or already decrypted, otherwise, it would be useless as an input. He's most likely using a container file. I don't think even newer container files have any kind of DRM on them, and definitely older co...

Re: Question about running a project
BTW, now that the question has been brought up, how does one disable animated menus in CXD? I went through the Options but didn't see anything immediately that jumped out at me that would disable them.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Dvd doesn't play in dvd player
The problem is probably it's a Sony player. Sony has made a lot of junk since 2002. Around that time, I bought a Sony DVD/VCR combo. I used a Sony DVD-R in a Sony DVD burner that played on my Sony PS2... but NOT on the Sony DVD/VCR combo! :o Said disc was not compatible. Yet, I used everything with ...

Re: Question about running a project
Yeah, that's probably why I noticed the audio out of sync. I never altered those options, but I would guess what was happening was the video was being pulled from somewhere else other than the start of the source, but the audio was always pulled from the start of the source, maybe? I know it didn't ...

Re: Question about running a project
I have noticed audio hiccups with the menus on the latest version. For instance, I've seen cases where the audio is out of sync with the video. I tolerate those because I don't really care about full motion video menus. I should probably disable those to reduce the size of the VIDEO_TS on disc.

I don't see anything related to VHS options in the Trim function.
Oh, wait, I see. It's under Image Settings. It's not the Trim function, but it is in an area where you find the Trim function.

Re: Tip for successful burning of DVDs especially DL
You will always have a better quality burn at lower speeds. The quality of the burn/disc determines whether you have playback issues and will affect longer load times. So, you have to experiment a little. For instance, I've found 8x on Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD+R DL in my drives have always burned ...

Re: Conversions stops @ 98.7% says 2 minutes remaining
Yeah, the Trim function I've found to be a bit flaky so I don't use it. For instance, I loaded a file just yesterday and needed to check something. So, I went into the Trim function to preview it. Pressing Play caused nothing to happen for 5 seconds and then the play resumed at 5 seconds into the fi...

Re: Conversion gets stuck
Yeah, I learned the hard way. Back in the days of CDX 4.x, I'd make a disc, file it away, and then watch it later. Only to discover the conversion didn't work right and I'd already deleted the source file(s). So, I started putting the source files on the disc because, as I also discovered, future ve...

Re: Conversion gets stuck
I like to keep a copy of my source files on the disc I make from CXD's output. In case, for instance, I can't watch a DVD right away. That way, if there is some kind of problem with the conversion I'm not aware of at the time, I can copy the source file from the DVD and see if I can repeat it/fix it...

The video containers loaded as titles into CXD. Things like MKV, MP4, etc.

Re: Conversion gets stuck
I don't use CloneDVD so I couldn't have told you about its burning ability. I use ImgBurn for my burning needs. I don't even let CXD do the burning. I just use it to create the VIDEO_TS and use ImgBurn to create the DVD. I like to add the source files used by CXD to the DVD so I have them available....

Re: Conversion gets stuck
If the VIDEO_TS plays fine in VLC, if you get the same menu based errors on different discs you burned, then it could be your DVD player. Have you tried playing one of these burned discs in someone else's DVD player and see if you get the same results? If you get the same results, then given the VID...

Re: Conversion gets stuck
Could be the DVD's you're using. Those playback issues, since the VIDEO_TS appears to play fine in VLC, sound like disc quality issues. Like maybe CMC manufactured the DVD+R DL. And only Verbatim DataLife Plus MKM media are quality DVD+R DL.

Re: Conversion gets stuck
About the only question I can answer is the 2 pass one.
I never noticed that much of a difference, if any, between the 1 pass and 2 pass output. However, my DVD player is an upscaling PS3, so on a DVD player that doesn't upscale, the difference may be noticeable.

Re: Conversion gets stuck
Try disabling the 2 pass conversion and see if that helps. Starting several years ago, I found this option to be extremely buggy after a certain update. The most common result would be the video would have a solid green screen for 60 seconds at the start of the video and then resume the proper audio...

Re: Can't disable subtitles
PowerDVD might have an option like MPC-HC. By default, subtitles are turned on for DVD on playback, but you can turn this off. When you disable the subtitles, it turns it off across the board.
