Re: SP MODE QUESTION ?

I understand videos 80'+ long have to be converted under MP. But what if I choose SP anyway in cases where the movie is no longer than 90' ? Will I have any benefits or maybe quality issues over the MP mode since it's just no more than 10' longer than the recommended lenght ? Thanx a lot !!! :? The...

TOOLTIPS: Could you please add mouseover tooltips to the icons at the top of the treeview pane as well as the icons at the bottom of the editing preview window? Most of the icons do not help me to know what they actually represent. If they are supposed to be present I don't see them on my Windows 7 ...

Hello deadlyshadow, For sure no, VSO doesn't forget ConvertXtoDVD and we are working hard on! ConvertX will stay our major product to create/edit DVD Video and we don't plan to replace it. Regards, Does VSO have even an approximate time frame for when they will be releasing a working version of CXD...

Re: Conversion Problem

Hello people, new to the forum, and need some help. Started using VSO several months ago and have never had a problem, I have been downloading the 24 series and all the conversions went well, as in they played on my TV perfectly. I had been putting 12 chapters on each disc. When I converted the lat...

Re: Converting to USB drive

I know that this program converts files to other files that are then put on a DVD and I have been using this program for years. I am wondering if there is a way to have the converted files put on a USB thumb drive then used on a PS3 or Xbox 360. I just dont like wasting DVDs if I dont have to. Why ...

Re: dvd won't burn

are there any good reliable dvd-r that don't cost the earth, the taiyo yuden ones seem very over priced as I just don't want to have to keep chucking discs away. I get my JVC/Taiyo Yuden discs from Memory Express in Canada (they don't ship outside of Canada to my knowledge) and they're cheap - abou...

Re: Any Custom Menu Templates That works for V5 X

I'm going to ride on the coattails of the OP because of the subject title. Has it yet been determined if all of the custom menus created by members actually load and work as expected in v.5, or if none of them work completely as they should, or if some of them work and some of them don't? I seem to ...

this is using an external usb burner to save my internal laptop burner but if it fails on the external burner it will always burn fine if I retry it using the internal burner built into the laptop? this is why I think its unlikely to be the discs? Re: New ConvertXtoDVD 5

The best video quality setting increased conversion time by a factor of 3 or 4 in the few conversions I tried. Do you have a sense if it made any difference? You have already done a conversion of that file with both options checked. I'd suggst that you can determine if the Best Video quality settin...

Re: New ConvertXtoDVD 5

Thanks for the reply, JoeB. I take it you think my experience is not the norm, is that right? Can you explain what enabling/disabling the "Best Video Quality" option does vs. the same thing with 1 pass, 2 pass? After all I do want the best quality, doesn't everyone? Also, (and I know I could probab...

Re: New ConvertXtoDVD 5

So I decided to try the latest Ver. 5 again (5.0.0.45). I converted an "Auto Long" project and it took approx. 6 hours! :( Sure I was using "Use best quality video" and "2 pass encoding" under the Encoding tab, but 6 hours!?? I've been using 2 pass encoding with Ver. 4 and the longest I've had to w...

Re: One movie from two avi files

What you describe is normal as far as I know, it happens the same way in ver 4. You can get around it if you merge CD2 to CD1 and make sure the subtitles are also merged. First, I agree that any movie in 2 parts (i.e., 2 cds) is best merged. But I'm not sure I understand why the second cd wouldn't ...

Re: Crashes on finalising disk?

that's because it's an A class brand. Ya can't get much better than those. They're on the same level as Tayo Yuden's True, as long as the batch you get isn't one that has been outsourced to Moser Baer (MBI media id) which manufactures in India. Verbatim has unfortunately been outsourcing much of it...
