You need to read the Announcement 1 sticky. We can't help without proper log info.

However, your first post says you want to burn several .avi files to disc with ConvertX. Did you first use ConvertX to convert those files to DVD files? If not, then you're not using the program correctly for its purpose.

Similarly, were the vob files you were trying to burn converted using ConvertX, with the target size in Settings set to DVD5? If not, again you're not using the program correctly.

This is a quick fix, without investigating your problem. If you are ending up with an oversize VIDEO_TS folder, then do not allow ConvertX to burn your compilation. Get an application like DVD2One or DVD Shrink and get it to shrink your VIDEO_TS contents to fit on a single layer DVD.
The quality might still be good, but that is for you to decide. See the movie before burning.

There are other ways of fixing those problems using CX2D, but we can't tell for sure unless the conversion and burn log is submitted.
