Postby ldeitrick » Tue Jan 18, 2011 5:41 pm

I have version old version 2.1.8.193 which has worked well with .avi and .wmv files so I have not updated. I tried to convert a .mov file and the video is fine but there is no audio.

log had the warning below.

Your file might be damaged or protected.
Sadly there is no support on that old version anymore.

The file works OK in Quick Time.
Will the updated version of ConvertX to DVD handle .mov files satisfactorily.

It does not matter if it works in Quicktime. Protected files work on the computer they are allowed to work. Converting files is totally different from watching them.

New version 4 can handle lot more formats, and you can download trial for free to test your file.

Thanks, I will download the trial version to test the file.
How do I determine if the file is Protected?

jj,

The file worked with the updated version. I have purchased the v.4.
Question - can I uninstall the old version 2. from my control panel or are ther files used by both?

thanks for you help,

Lee

You can uninstall old version if you want but it is not necessary and does not use much disc space.
