"Damn we have a problem" message

Post by brucekrymow » Tue Aug 23, 2016 1:15 pm

ConvertXtoDVD version 4.2.0.0 on Win 10 PC.

When I try to convert .mkv or .mp4 files, I get the "Damn we have a problem" message, and the log indicates that the .mkv or .mp4 file is "ignored" and that "There is no decodable video stream".

I never had this problem when I was running ConvertX on my old Win 7 PC.

What can be done to resolve this?

Use different source.
Old version is not able to decode all new codecs.

Hi, JJ ~

Thanks for the follow-up... but I'm not sure that is accurate.

I have about a hundred MP4s & MKVs that I've successfully decoded and made DVDs from on an older version of ConvertXtoDVD 4.2 on my old Win 7 PC for 2-3 years just fine.

I simply got a new Win 10 PC and re-installed ConvertXtoDVD, and the exact same files encounter this message now. Am I missing a codec update or other update to my ConvertXtoDVD v4.2.2 that would enable the decoding on the re-install?

Thanks in advance!

No, CxD does not require any external codecs.
Can you play those files to check that they are still ok?

Can you send an example?
Upload to some cloud service and send me private link.
This is something that VSO is not supporting anymore as this is old version, but I'm interested in testing this.
