Just with that specific file.
Every other 10bit file I've tested is fine.

Very sorry to disappoint you.
It appears that that MKV compression is not supported by ConvertX.
Your best bet is to convert it to say MP4. Or some other format which takes merged subs.
In the meantime, I'll try and contact VSO and send the file properties. But don't hold your breath. Because it could take a very long time.

MKV is not a compression but a container format.
After using hundreds of MKV files with CxD, I am certain that either that one file is somehow faulty (although it plays fine on other players) or we've stumbled on a CxD bug.

Can you post detailed info about codecs used on that problematic file?
As said, MKV is container and all depends on what is inside.

Coral, your Mediainfo doesn't show some Video properties, like the very important Bit depth. Is it an old version?
Please consult the code block of
my previous post.

If you're desperate for that movie, this is how I managed to convert it.
1) Convert the movie to another HQ format. I used the conventional MKV (container for MP4) on Aiseesoft Video Converter Ultimate.
2) Using MkvToolnix (MkvExtract). Extracted all components.
3) Using MkvToolnix (MkvMerge). Added the converted movie file plus the English and Spanish subs and chapter points.
Converted perfectly. VSO need to look to this. But it will probably take an eternity + a day

No, I am not desperate. My goal is to find if there is a bug on CxD decoder to help for making a better CxD and avoid future frustration of CxD users that may be too lazy to report problems.
However, thank you for taking time to find a workaround, although it was my plan to demux it anyway if it was taking too long to conclude on the reason here.

If other files with same encoding do convert then it is most likely something in source file. I have encountered several movies that play fine but crash on conversion.

Always opens with default settings. E.g. switch on user setting “hardware optimization” but each time software opens, it goes back to default setting of “off”. And it is the same with all the user settings
