BatchXtoDVD - software to do batch conversions with ConvertX

Post by cmsoft » Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:57 am

Image

BatchXtoDVD is available for download from http://beta.cmsoft.co.uk

It works in very much the same way as ConvertXBatch, and it has been designed to look the same too for the sake of familiarity.

However, there are some differences. First of all, if you have more than one version of ConvertXtoDVD installed, BatchXtoDVD will by default select Version the newest - BUT you can choose to use an earlier version if you wish.

BatchXtoDVD will work quite happily with FileLists on Vista regardless of whether or not UAC is enabled (ConvertXBatch would not save filelists on Vista if UAC was enabled).

BatchXtoDVD uses the ConvertXtoDVD registry settings. If you choose between using V2, V3 and V4, the correct settings are loaded for that version.

I would be very grateful for any feedback, comments, suggestions etc. Bug reports can be filed at http://bugs.cmsoft.co.uk

AND if anyone would like to take on the task of writing the help file, then I would be a very happy person :-)

im looking into this now... i have several AVI ready to be converted, but i dont have time to do these one at a time, lol...

the settings on this application under encoding section dont appear to work with this new version.

under the encoding quality, says low, med, and high and in new version of convertx there are not the same. so i hope it works right...

if you build the project with cx2dvd first the load the saved files it will work without the settings needing to be changed in batchx2dvd

here is a small command line script that can be used, just drop the project files you want done into the same folder as these and click "Convert Saved Projects" if you are on a 32 bit OS, you may have to go into the "encode" object and change where ConvertXtoDVD.exe is located (the install directory).

crunkmunky2: this method has been used way before BatchX - it has also been discussed numerous times.
Your instructions are good except for one thing; using timecritical can make your system unresponsive, unstable and actually slow down total conversion.

Hi
Well from what i can see its this... i make my DVD project using convertx then i save this as a project, but it seems that when i then open BatchXtoDVD and then click on Add pre-made project it seems that no matter what template and settings i have used in making the original project using convertx they seem to get over written with the settings in BatchX, like the Default Menu Template & the Encoding quality!

Is this by design or am i doing something wrong??

Thanks

Pete

When you load in a pre made project and go to setting page menu template is blank do not click on it or it will change remember and to save settings.
