[Solved] Why does VSO Downloader download multiple videos

Postby xwray » Sun Apr 29, 2012 9:56 pm

I just downloaded v 2.9.1.2. I am running it on 64 bit windows 7. When I activate it and play a YouTube video, VSO detects the video and downloads 5 copies of the same exact thing. Is this a bug or something I am doing wrong? Any feedback will be appreciated.

thanks

If you stop and restart video or move forward/backward in it while it is downloading, it is detected as new video.

Thanks...I had picked up on that fact while reading other posts regarding the same issue. Just to confirm the point, I just now started VSO, loaded the YouTube page, started a video and did not touch the mouse again until the video stopped. I could see by the messages that VSO was flashing up that it was doing the same thing - downloaded 5 copies of the exact same thing - all the same size and each, when played, showed the exact same video. This makes no sense to me.

I just tested on youtube with win 7 64bit.
Some videos can't be completed at all, some show twice or triple, but I suppose that is due soem of them being html5 and youtube offers flash if browser can't handle html5.
Developers should check on this issue.

Hello,

A new version has been released that fixes the duplicate detection and it also supports all your urls including HTML5.

Version 2.9.3.2

It would be nice if the duplicate detection was applied to ALL videos.
