Tool to completely uninstall a VSO Software product

Postby Claire » Wed Feb 13, 2008 3:57 pm

Hello,

Uninstalling a VSO Software product from the Control Panel
'add/remove programs' or from selecting uninstall next from the start menu will not erase the entries in your computers registry.

To completely uninstall one or more VSO Software programs use this tool:

http://download2.vso-software.fr/CleanVSO.exe

It is recommended to restart you computer after this process.

I'm wondering if you made this for people with Windows XP.

The reason why I'm saying this is because I tried using it so I could make a clean install of the newest version available of CDX (v3.0.0.24), but it didn't work for me. I use Vista on my laptop, could it be the reason?

I wish I could tell you what the error message was, but my laptop was bought in Korea and has a Korean version of Vista. I'm not Korean and have no idea what the error message is.

Anyway, I wanted to make a clean install because everytime I added a new version/update of CDX, I got some message about Pattin Couffin when I boot my laptop. Now that I've installed newer versions of CDX for the fifth time, I get the same message asking me to do "something" (I just cancel!) five times in a row!!! Next time I install an update, I guess I'll get the message six times, and so on. Any idea what I can/should do?

Hi cmr,

I run XP and the same happened to me.

After a clean install the Patin Couffin driver is not (always) installed.
If you do a reboot (PC close --> press power switch to start)
On my PC the windows wizzard opens and asks me to install new hardware.
(Patin Couffin driver).
I follow the procedure and afterwards if i start CX3.x.x.x , I will see in the log that Patin Couffin driver is loaded/found/gonna to be used.
Before you see probably SPTI driver listed in log.
This is since v16. and newer
Afterwards the program functions fine.

I entered already some time ago a bug report (1809) for this (low priority)

Regards

Ok, so if I understood correctly, we seem to have a similar issue, except for the part where I cannot do a clean install because I cannot run CleanVSO.exe.

Is CleanVSO.exe only for Windows XP?

It works on Vista as well. You should have a UAC prompt at launch.
Even if you don't understand the error message, can you copy it and run it through Google translation maybe? In case it's Vista Ultimate you can install an English language pack as well...

Hi,

I have seen more topics where the log showed that the driver not was loaded.
This was with versions before v24.
With the version v24 it has not happened anymore in my case.
V24 went as it should be.

regards

Has this application been updated lately? For Windows 7? Newer versions of ConvertXtoDVD?
