PhotoDVD slideshow error

Postby tomekle » Wed Dec 02, 2009 10:31 am

I am using the trial version to check the program out for now. After loading my saved slideshow (100 pictures and audio tracks) when I try to burn it I am getting compilation error message. It states that there is "Access violation at address 00C1DF08 in module 'PhotoDVD.exe'. Read of address 00000038".
My PC is HP Pavilion dv9700 Notebook w/ AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Tech. TL-60 2.00 GHz, 4.00GB RAM, Vista Home Premium 64-bit, Video NVIDIA GeForce Go7150M

This is the log of the session:

Hi,

Thanks for reporting.

Can you send me a couple of the images you are using so I can test with them: claire(at)vso-software.fr

And we have made this special version to see if it fixes the problem:
http://oasis.vso-software.fr/CustomBuil ... 1.0.2c.exe

Please let me know how your test goes.

Thanks so much.

If you help us solve the problem I will give you a license key for free :)

PhotoDVD problems

Postby cedric » Mon Dec 14, 2009 3:44 pm

Hi,

I reproduced this problem, and the updated version will be available soon...
To confirm I founded the problem, can you try to compile your project using a DVD menu template? (use "Options', "DVD menu" and select a DVD template)

I'm waiting for your feedback...

Thank you!

Hi,
I am using latest version of PhotoDVD on my HP Pavilion DV7 (Windows 7).
After removing and reinstalling several times I still get eroor message:
"Access violation at address 00C1DF08 in module 'PhotoDVD.exe'. Read of address 00000038".

When I select any other DVD Menu than "No Menu", the DVD encoding starts successfully.

I asked about this some time ago and have yet to see any results from support. HELLO.......! :?: Anybody out there? There are customers with money to spend waiting to see if you can fix this...! Hello? Oh well. I guess we will have to shop elswhere.

:!: I downloaded the prerelease version as you asked, set a preference for no menu, added slides and music, and set it to auto burn a dvd. It compiles without error messages but then.....at 99.97% just sits there. No next step or anything. It just stays hung at the end of step #4.

I started a new project as above but this time I set it to "Simple Menu". Same problem...it just sits there hung at 99.89% this time. There is a green button for a loaded blank DVD disc on a good Sony burner in both cases.

If you need me to be very specific about all settings in future communications in order to assist you in debugging, I would ask that you provide me a key# at no charge to compensate me for my time already spent on this problem and time that will be spent in the future.

Thank you.
BTW.....I like the new GUI.

Hi 3rdtimer,

Thank you for reporting problem.
I can reproduce.

I have entered a bug report about this.
http://bugs.vso-software.fr/view.php?id=3573

Workaround:
-Leave burn option unchecked and compile to HDD.
-Use from tools the burn an already compiled project function.

:!: Cedric......I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you concerning the problem in this thread. For some reason I didn't get your response notification in my email.

Good news !..... The problem in the thread went away! I loaded the 40027 version and the program went throught the entire process and did a burn with no hitch or hesitation. I set it to "No Menu" and it worked perfectly.

Thanks for your time and effort.

hansK......Thanks for the heads up. I did notice a difference in the first step (length ? etc?)

This time my email notice worked.
