.m4v (itunes video) files

Postby hsforum » Mon Oct 29, 2007 6:16 pm

Does ConvertXtoDVD handle .m4v (itunes video) files?
If not, will it support these in a future release?

Hi,

Did you try it with latest v2.2.3.258 ?

Is there a link where you can download such file ?

Email the link to: lionel(at)vso-software.fr

Let him know this file failed with v2.2.3.258

VSO will investigate, and maybe support this format in the next version.

UPDATE:

Seems this format is supported by ConvertXtoDVD, but you cannot select them as an input file, unless you select (*.*) so see them as a supported file.

There's an open request (#1125) with VSO already to get .m4v listed as a valid extension.

.m4v is format from itunes video which is supported in convertxtodvd, but until added to list of supported files one must first change browser selection to all files (*.*) in order to add it for conversion . . . . see screen shot attached

Hi,

Thanks for the update.

This means still follow my above suggestions, to send a file and G-Spot PrintScreen to Lionel for analysis.

Thanks...

More on m4v-Sending to Lionel

Postby hsforum » Tue Oct 30, 2007 1:37 pm

Thanks cougar/all!
I am using latest Version 2.2.3.258
The .m4v file is one I purchased/downloaded from iTunes.
Using *.* in the 'File Name' worked and let me add the file however when I convert it, it errors out (see attachment).
I am sending full details and the .m4v file to Lionel.
Hope we can get a resolution quickly.
What is G-Spot PrintScreen?

Hi hsforum,

Thank you.

If Lionel has such a file, there no need to send a G-Spot Print Screen.

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

G-Spot is a software that will identify Audio/Video streams in a file, provide you detailed information about a video file.

video probably has protection on it because anything from itunes store has DRM data in them

ConvertXToDVD won't read and convert it.

Fonz replies:
Well, ConvertXToDVD won't read and convert it.
.m4v files are protected and the video is scrambled. You can not play them on the windows media player, on VLC Player, and on Media Player Classics. They are rights on these kind of video files. It's impossible to decode them.
