Well you may be on to something !

If you look at all the logs I pasted on the bug site, they are all Vista Systems...

One test I was going to do was this:

Quote:
Loaded DLL "C:\Program Files\VSO\ConvertX\3\vso_hwe.dll" [3.1.1.389]

Install build 92, and confirm the burner is missing (Who ever has the issue) then just replace the vso_hwe.dll with .382 and start ConvertXtoDVD, and it should it see.

I will update the bug report, stating it seems to be on Vista Only.

I have XP SP3 so no problems at all !

UPDATE: decided to try Cougar's suggestion:

1. Uninstalled latest version 3.2.9.94
2. Checked "program files"...no VSO folder remaining.
3. Removed VSO folder manually from Appdata/Roaming
4. Used CCleaner to wipe registry
5. Installed 3.2.9.94 - result: no drive discovered
6. copied over "vso_hwe.dll" (3.0.2.382)
7. Ran ConvertX...DRIVE DISCOVERED

Is this burner internal or external? If internal, then I guess it may be Vista related.

I have already mentioned it in the other thread I started when I first saw the problem but I am using XP. I had not posted the log which is why you would have missed it.

Just an update. I had the problem with drive recognition. I am running XP Pro SR3 with all updates. Using the latest beta version of Convertex and of DVDFAB all but one of my external drives do not appear. The internal drives do appear. Tried this on two computers. Copying the .82 version of the vso DLL to both DVDFAB and Convertex then causes the drives to all appear. I can not comment on this using VISTA.

Nope, have an internal burner NEC DVD+RW ND-1000A 1.01 (yes its old, but works fine).

Am running Vista Ultimate though.. Have only had the problem since 3.2.6.86 beta.. overwrote overwrote v3.1.1.389 with v3.0.2.382 (from last official version) and back in business. Haven't installed new .dll referenced above yet, but will advise as soon as I do.

Sorry guys disregard this post above, the problem turned out to be my DVD Player the DVDs motor had to be replaced today, I noticed that it was taking longer to spin up and kept skipping... for some reason when the dvd was playing too slow the menu appeared.. that is until it refused to play DVDs all together...

It would continue to play VCDs without problems, they must play at a different speed, Im not technically minded when it comes to DVD players so.........

Strange how the menu appeared like that though, the same DVD now playing with a fixed dvd player doesn't show the menu...

So even though you select Auto play from convertx menu it still render
that menu but skips it when playing the disk, is that right ???

cheers

Yes, all menus are still rendered, just skipped.

So with [X] Autostart, [X] Play one after an other and [X] Loop, you can watch all your movies without ever seing 1 menus, but they are still all there.

You can see them on request when using your DVD remote.
