Hi.
What you are going to read is the proof of my absolute noobism.
Someone tell'd me to download Blindwrite for my pc and ps2 game backups.
So i downloaded it, and i can't at all use it.
Im on copy option.
The game i want to backup is Call of Duty 5(dvd-rom PC). its is 6.91 GB. I've put in my other cd drive a blank disc of 8GB free.
I thinked : maybe compatibility issues (im running windows 7).
My problem: i select the disc drive with my game in, Blindwrite detects it as "DVD-ROM incomplete" and i set destination to my other cd drive with the blank disc in it. then it says "select a source media" and then im stuck.
Can please someone help? |

You're not alone in this. I keep having the same problem with a Battlefield 2142 DVD (about 3.8 GB). I've tried everything from using different DVD burners (Plextor, Sony) and I even tried using my MacBook in Windows XP with no luck. "DVD-ROM, incomplete" and the Read button is greyed out. If someone could shed some light on this it would save us a big headache.

Hi,
You mentionned you are trying to copy a game !
Maybe this message is cause by a protection on the media ? ! ? !
Do you know what protection is on the disk ?
SecurROM, Star Force etc... ?
Maybe Blindwrite can't copy this game ?
I am 0% a game person so it's just an idea... _________________ VSO Software Golden Membership Proud Owner / VSO Software Beta Tester

I got it to work. For some reason I was under the impression that I HAD to use Blindwrite to create the image. Not so! Here is what I did:
- Downloaded and installed the newest version of Daemon Tools Lite found here
- Created an image of my original BF2142 DVD using Daemon Tools Lite as seen here
- Mounted the image as seen here
- Launched the game, and it worked!
Just in case it might be useful I have a Sony Optiarc DVD burner. For info purposes the game has SecuROM security according to Daemon Tools game database. I hope this helps someone. |

Blindwrite, Alcohol 120%, Daemon, etc .. .whatever you use, they have to be set exactly correct, or on some media, they just will write an unplayable disc.
Some copy protections you cannot beat ..
You will never copy a Blaupunkt Travel Pilot Rom, for instance .. and get it to work in the player. _________________ Peace ... Bags. |
