HI,

I did see you log yesterday, sorry for not answering.

I did search for a firmware upgrade for your burner but didn't find one.

Other than try a burn at x2.4 I have no idea why it's crashing like that.

Is this a new problem ? Does this all the time now ?

Did something change on your PC ? A new software was installed ?

Maybe there's a corrupt registry key that can do this, I would personally try a 100% clean installation if it was me.

Other ideas people ?

I don't get any subtitles in the output, but everything appears to work fine. As input I use a .TS file captured on a Humax PVR-9200T from the BBC.

Neither a hardware DVD player, or software DVD players, or just playing the .VOB files will show any subtitles.

Viewing the original .TS file in VLC Player shows the subtitles just fine.

Getting DVB subtitles to work correctly would be a most major improvement to this product for me.

Hi.

How on earth can i add subtitles to my movies? It always gives me this kind of answer:

9.02.2008 10:47:26 warning Skipping subtitle file "Anacondas.(2004).DVDRiP.XViD-KJS.sub". Reason: Empty or unsupported format

I just can't make this work so I think I am going to post what I did and maybe someone can spot the problem:

Add video file (no subtitles) --> click on "subtitle" --> add .ass file --> error message: skip subtitle file. reason: "empty or unsupported format" --> move .ass file to the same folder as video file. The folder, the video file, and the .ass file all have the same file name, except the extension. --> add video file again --> still get that error message --> click "convert" --> a video file WITHOUT subtitles.

vso_try, what version are you using?

Try and get different subtitles for your file this maybe be easier than working with the current ones you have.

I am using 2.2.3.258. I guess I will have to have different subtitle files, then. Where can I download update for this version?

There is another issue, not related with the problem above. ConvertXtoDVD can't keep subtitles in mkv files. After I convert mkv files, the subtitles disappear. When I add mkv video file with subtitles (not separate file) to convert, it always shows that there is no external or internal subtitles. No error message, just no subtitles. I guess it can't detect it. Unless I have a subtitles file seperate from the vidoe file, like an .ass file, that works. Any mkv video file with subtitles just doesn't work. Is there a way to fix this?

The latest update for version 2.2.3.258 is on the VSO site. Or did you mean where do you find more subtitles to update the subtitle you have? The site I use most for searching subtitles is here:

http://www.opensubtitles.com/en

Sorry, I can help you with the problem you're having with subtitles within your mkv files.

Regards,

JoeB

That was the first place I check but I couldn't find it.

Sorry about this. I just check and figure this out. Thank you.

No color!! I hope someone can help me with this. I've tried every combination of numbers in the "color-contrast" box, but the only things I can change are the outline, shadow and back. The color stays as a dullish brown which is nearly impossible to read. I've tried all settings including default. Thanks in advance.

Your efforts are always appreciated

1) I've tried with ver. 3 and i got the same results.
My problem is only with Arabic subs. I've tried English and it works fine.

2) how can I add 2 different subtitles? I mean one Arabic and one English for the same movie?

Please advise..

Thanks in advance

Hello,

You can add them but they are still in odd characters or you cannot add them anymore?

Please see how to merge files,
http://forums.vso-software.fr/guide-how-to-merge-and-join-video-files-together-t3080.html

But here under the video file you can add multiple subtitles to one video file using the icons underneath the video file in this new editing window.

Are you sure your subtitle formats are accepted?

I'm using .srt files. I can watch it with no problems. I don't have the problem with the english subs when i burn the movie, they appear fine. the only problem is with the arabic subs.

I'm using windows vista, do u think there is something else i need to do? like in the configurations? fonts? codes?
