[Solved] Converting VOB files to MP3

Postby davemc759 » Sat Feb 25, 2012 7:38 pm

Copyto incorrectly calculates both the duration and the file size when converting VOB files to mp3 files.
Both when creating an MP3 disk

and when creating an audio disk.

The really odd part about this besides the fact the software doesn't work is that it actually did let me rip the files once and saved them in a temp directory. Of course when it tried to burn them it failed but, it appears, for totally the wrong reason. Here is the log

When I attempted to do this again at a lower bit rate I recieved the results shown in the images. I have to say I am not at all impressed with the program. I had used CopyToDVD in the past under XP but it was not really useful under Windows 7. When I heard you could now extract audio from a DVD I thought it may be useful again so I jump back on and bought it without trailing(silly me, now I am starting to remember how buggy the program was and see that apparenetly it still is). Basically if it cannot perform the one function I purchased it for directly out of the box then it is absolutely useless to.

Hi,

I will work on your problem on monday, but it seems windows explorer don't get the proper duration too (VTS_01_3 & VTS_01_5)?
Where does your VOB files? Ripped from an original DVD or are they the result of a conversion?

Thanks.

Rip was not good, even windows explorer is confused with those files.
Your picture shows that it finds 25 hours of video in those two vobs (VTS_01_3 & VTS_01_5).
