Hi,

Here's my quick burning guide:

http://forums.vso-software.fr/burning-p ... -t123.html

I would get better media, since your burner doesn't burn those CMC Crap oops CMC Mag lower than 6x.

Get Vermatim, Taiyo Yuden media.

My personal opinion !

Hi,

Memorex are mostly made by CMC Mag.

They are ok media nothing else. They are not 100% reliable media (That's my opinion).

One will burn, one wont etc...

100% Burned Sucessfully doesn't mean a quality burn either.

PiPo Scan will confirm this.

Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden use high quality dye, and every PiPo Scan made gives a 95% and above quality burns.

So like I said earlier, that's my opinion.

Want 100% success across the board and quality burns ?

Get 1st class quality media and burn at 4x, I haven't bomb a media in years, all my DVD plays everywhere and I can read my data off a media after being on the shelf after several years.

That's my opinion :D

Okay i understand you, and i will by in the future other dvd's. But then my question agian (on my best englisch pffff).

In het past i had no problems with burning dvd's with copytodvd. The last few weeks ik get the same as the topicstarter. I already bought a new burner, but the problem stays. As you already said, it can be the dvd's. But i use Memorex discs now for some 4 years and i never had anyproblem.

So can you give another explanatoin????

With many greets,
easterbunny

i dont think that the writespeed is the problem.

i have to correct me, the secound burn has bad sectors at the end of the media. i checked it with vso inspector. so i burned the 5 files again (the third time), with 12x writespeed. again i checked with inspector and again there are bad sectors and they start exactly at the same sector as the second burn!

now i have burned this again (fourth time) but now i used nero 6.6.15 with 12x writespeed. burn was succesfull and the check with inspector was good, no bad sectors!

i think its a problem from copytodvd.

this is the log from the media burnt with copytodvd (12x)

Tired of the Media excuse

Postby sillyxander » Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:13 pm

I'm tired of that excuse that anytime this program fails to write that it's the medias fault, I've used all different types of dvds and it never seems to matter which do what, its seems no one wants to say its the program. I'm having this same error after months of perfectly fine burning and then nothing will burn everything comes up with the same lousy excuse and I'm fed up with it, And the only help that anyone wants to offer is to tell me to buy more expensive dvds when i know that that's not the problem, does anyone have any real reasons. Because I'm pretty sick of this.

What can I say !

I have hundreds and hundreds of DVD-R and DVD+R burned and not 1 issue using CopyToDVD or ConvertXtoDVD to burn my movies.

Then again I only use TYG02/TYG03 (Taiyo Yuden) and MCC- (Verbatim) medias.

Funny how people using cheap media are always the 1st ones to have burning/playback issues ....

Enought say, this is MY opinion and will not change my mind.
QUALITY media makes all the difference in the world...

Re: Code 05 21 02 - Illegal request, Invalid address for Wri

Postby dreemsnake » Sat Jun 30, 2012 11:31 pm

I AM using Verbatim. The error I get is 'write error at 669008(16). Code 05 21 02 [illegal request, invalid address for Write]

I've used Convertxtodvd 4 for years now and have had trouble here and there. But these are brand new Verbatim disks and I can't keep wasting them.

I followed what everyone said. I used to use Memorex, and I knew they were cheap but I couldn't afford better. I still can't but the job I am doing now has to be perfect and has to be done asap, so I bought Verbatim. And now the only answer I can get is that the media isn't good enough!

There has to be another reason so please stop repeating your easy answer. I have tried changing the write speed to 2.4x (from 4x). I don't know what else to try.

Thank you.

Now we take a break.

Who posted original question?
Original poster has clearly bad media.
Second poster with logs has some issues, they need to be verified.

All others - start your own thread and provide log of problem!
